Actually you tube has great independent journalists and not just mouth pieces. Journalists like - Glenn Greenwald, Michael Shellenberger, Kim Iverson, Dan Cohen and Alison Morrow etc.
They've interviewed senators, congress people, many of the current presidential candidates from dem to repub to independent, doctors that went against fda guideline, actually went to Israel/gaza to find out for themselves what's going on and to write about it etc.

I read the non-OpEd NYT, mostly good for news but they fuck up quite a bit. Read "Gray Lady Down" for more info on the extent of their screw-ups. WSJ is the most consistently accurate news but they make mistakes too.
I usually rely on Twitter for my current events. It's pretty much real time reporting and I'm subscribed all across the political spectrum so get opposing viewpoints. Historical shit I just cheat and use Wikipedia lol.
