It was 8 Republicans and 208 Democrats that voted to dump McCarthy. The Democrats hoped they could help cause problems in the Republican Party and possibly elect Jeffries as the speaker.
I fully expected people like you to whine no matter who got elected to that spot.
If the Republicans elected Donald Trump or Attila the Hun's nastier brother to the speakership you and other Democrats need to look in the mirror for someone to blame.

It was Matt Gaetz and his band of seven merry cohorts that did the motion to vacate. Dems did what they're expected to do, vote against McCarthy as the loyal opposition party. You can't blame the GOP's total dysfunction on the democrats. It also took the republicans 4 different candidates and 19 total votes to finally elect a speaker. Which btw took them 3 weeks. Nancy Pelosi had just as slim a margin as McCarthy yet managed to never have an insurrection by her own party and passed historic legislation without complaint. McCarthy was a spineless pussy who would've sold his soul to be speaker, cost him his job and the GOP the house in 24 lol

I would say that MAGA followers absolutely don't qualify as speaker, especially because he was the architect of much of the fake elector bullshit.
However, since all Pubs in the house voted for him as speaker, they must have thought he could work with the Dems and the White House and that he'd be reasonable.
If he's unreasonable, nothing will get done (except aid to Israel) and there will be a lot of turmoil in the coming weeks with funding the government and supporting Ukraine.
