I almost drowned in my jacuzzi on a bender lol. But yeah, I don't see how anyone sober could down in a jacuzzi since you literally have to sink yourself since it's like 3' deep.

Saw him on ALL the talk shows last year where he talked about his addictions & he was dead serious, not even trying to be funny. I saw him in a new light because I was never a fan & I thought his Friends character was highly annoying.

I can co-sign that partying in a jacuzzi isn't the brightest idea. I did one night and luckily I woke up when the sun was up, neck killing me from my head leaned over but still had my drink in my hand. Glad I didn't slump forward or it would have been game over lol

Had a very similar thing happen at a party years ago. Guy was drunk and in the jacuzzi by himself. Another girl just happened to be walking by when she saw him slowly slip below the water. She reached over and grabbed a handful of hair and pulled him back up and yelled for some guys to come help pull him out. Had she not been walking by at that particular moment he would have been a goner for sure.
If one is already weakened from either medication or alcohol, hot water can cause fainting (syncope). It doesn't necessarily take a jacuzzi to happen, it can happen just by taking a shower in hot water.

NEVER use a hot tube by yourself, or at least with someone in close proximity.
At 54, he was relatively young but it is easy for anyone to faint/pass out, and drown in a heated hot tub. Also, heart attacks happen. My understanding is that preliminary toxicology shows that there was no alcohol or drugs involved, and he has been clean and able to control his alcoholism and previous drug abuse. It could be that all of the previous years of hard-core abuse have taken it's toll, making a heart attack more likely.
My understanding is that his assistant had left to run some routine errands and came back two hours later to find him facedown in the water.
Regardless ... RIP

The thing that kind of felt like a Chandler joke was that reports say that he was exhausted after a 2hr pickle ball game. Maybe he fell asleep from exhaustion?
I knew a girl in my 20s who nearly drowned in her bathtub because she fell asleep in it and when she woke up she was so disoriented that she was under for far longer than necessary. She had to go to the hospital after the incident. IDK.

The coroner's office said that other issues contributed to his death but didn't cause his death.
