I know what you mean. Most of the time I am torn between screaming, just shaking my head, or trying to bring some civility into a debate. But "civility" is usually the first casualty of anonymous debating or blogging.

Yes, I saw. We have now about 900 people charged. 900 people out of 74 million who voted for Trump.
Now let's talk about summer of 2020. There have been over 13,000 arrests. At least 15 people dead, $1-2 billion in damages to government and private property.
But heck, let's keep harping on January 6th. It is far better than to talk about 8+% inflation.

I was pointing out the total lack of civility in our country, and I used our own President who clearly shows HIS lack of civility on are regular basis.
Not political, just saying his example is not helping. He said he would 'unite'...he has done everything possible NOT to unite.

Too far.
Traffic is so bad that it seems far to me. I use to drive from the San Gabriel Valley to Central Orange County, Encino, Lancaster, San Jacinto and Lake Elsinore for example. These days it's hard to pull that trigger.

There was far more death, destruction and ruination of building and communities during the summer of 2020. 1/6 doesn't hold a candle to the financial and human impact of the summer riots.
$1.5 million damage to the Capital.
$1.5 to 2.0 BILLION damage during the summer.

Summer of 2020 depending upon whose statistics 14-25 people.
January 1 Capitol Riot 140 law enforcement officers injured.
Summer 2020 riots in excess of 2,000 officers injured.
So, you are SO correct, I made an error in comparison. The Summer Riots were FAR, FAR worse than the Capitol January 6.
But hey, don't let statistics screw up your narrative.

I shake my head at the fact that it doesn't matter what subject matter is, it doesn't take long for someone to (loosely) weave it into a political diatribe! The pundits seem to hijack every conversation! Makes me think about the definition of a "fanatic": Someone who won't change their mind, and won't change the subject! I think they forget why they are on this site to begin with. And it's too bad that the opportunity to join in an intelligent conversation and possibly make a sexy new friend on this site quickly evaporates when they spot an opportunity to bash the Left-Right, Red-Blue, Dems-Pubs, Bidens-Trumps, etc., etc., etc. They just can't help themselves!
