"We can’t toss away what’s feeding us now while what will feed us next is still not in our pocket"
Gee, you would THINK that would be completely obvious to everyone.

Ahh yes... the Paris Climate Accords.
We pour in billions of dollars and give China, India, and god knows who else a pass to build coal plants while we commit economic suicide to buy shit from China that they dont want.
I'm sure this is yet another international money laundering adventure for John Kerry the Democrat wizards of stupidity who love throwing our money around on shit that doesn't add up.
Fucking Trump! How dare he pull out! That dude is such a fucking pain in the ass.

Hey bro, tell these folks that China and India have some of the worst air pollution in all of the world because of coal.

In the 60s and 70s Fontana use to be black because of Kaiser Steel. When I was knee high to a June bug in the back of mom's Chevrolet station wagon driving on a two lane hwy 10 to LA from the IE, passing thru fontana was ominous.
Yes the 10 fwy was two lanes in each directions.

You can thank rayguns and every president after him for pushing 'the global economy' bullshit and dismantling our manufacturing base.
So now our supply line depends on other countries rather then on us.
Really stupid stupid decisions.

"You can thank rayguns and every president after him for pushing 'the global economy' bullshit and dismantling our manufacturing base."
Maybe except for one. And that's the guy they all desperately dont want to run again. Let that sink in.

I think you are correct in one respect. Trump may have made a serious attempt to bring back manufacturing from China, Singapore, and Mexico, but he might have turned right around and created incentives to send those same jobs to Russia! Pure speculation on my part, and clearly a mean spirited statement, but that seems to be the soup de jour here on HX.

Try not to get off track, umkay?
Bottom line is that Prog activists are pushing Dr. Demento in the WH to neuter ourselves in order to save the planet. Meanwhile, there will be NO change in temperature in the next 100 years AND NO change in carbon output to the downside. The only saving grace we will have over the next 100 years is the dramatic drop in population growth and eventual drop in overall population.
The only reason the US has made progress is due to switching to NatGas from coal and now the Progs want to stop that too. They're also against nucular power, the only true "clean" energy source. They're also suing to stop Lithium mines in Nevada and other US locales. They're also suing over large scale wind/solar projects being built.
You CANNOT make any net progress with a Prog.
They will bring you down to their level of stupid, then beat you with experience.
Did I also mention that they're magnificently epic hypocrites?
Oh and stupid, did I get that in there too?
We have a few on this site, so it's pretty easy to see them post their stupid.
In fact, no doubt there will be some posted here shortly.

"Yes the 10 fwy was two lanes in each directions."
Wow, you're a young pup!
I used to drive from LA to Palm Springs before the 10 was built, took like 5 hours pre-1957.
But, the real smog didn't start til the 1960's and got progressively worse into the early 1970's.
HOWEVER, Buttz.........that doesn't have shit to do with carbon.
That burning dangerous part about smog is mostly particulate matter, oxides, etc.
Here's the stupid coming from Warden Newsome:
CA fires up a whole bunch of fossil fuel plants whenever the grid looks endangered cause Gavin doesn't want to Gray Davis'ed on the issue. Then, when we still don't have enough energy due to the shit dependency on solar/wind, we pay extremely exorbitant rates to buy electricity from surrounding states who DO generate most of the energy with fossil fuel plants, fucking lol.
So, like all Progs, CA simply exports their carbon production somewhere else on the globe, then touts what a great bunch of solid citizens they are..........fucking stupid Progs.
Maybe we'll be saved by the Chicoms if they'll run a power conduit under the Pacific from their new 200+ coal fired plants and we can have one more thing we're dependent on them for.
It's time to have year round hunting season on Progs with no bag limit and no license required

Has it occurred to anyone else that we seem to be doing EXACTLY what they - biden, trump and all the rest in power today, want us to be doing? Fighting among ourselves instead of watching what they're doing.
Whether you're on the right or the left we pretty much want the same thing - America to be strong and prosperous, live our lives in peace, make a decent living and be able to take care of our families.
We may differ on how we think that should be done but the goals are the same.
If we agree on the basics then we should be able to sit down and rationally figure out a way to do that so that we're all satisfied with the direction.
The question I keep asking myself is WHY are they trying to divide us more?
On the anniversary of 911 biden and the rest of them came out and declared republicans worse then those 911 terrorists. Seriously??? Because they disagree with them? Think the country is going in the wrong direction? Think they're purposely censoring opposing arguments? etcetc.
They're really worse then those insane ass holes?
Something's going on and no matter if you're on the left or right the storm's going to hit both equally. The only question is what it is and what's it going to look like?

I agree that there are factions trying to divide us but it is the media and the radical left.
There is no moderate Democrat party any more. It has been hijacked by radicals with odd views of what "Democray" is.
It's really the Deep state in control. They want to Federalize everything and toss out the Constitution and states rights. Total Authoritarian control.
Pretty obvious at this point.

I think you're letting your dislike for the left cloud your judgement.
There's no difference between the left or right anymore. Both are slaves to corporate america, both go into politics not because they think they can make a difference for the better but for self enrichment & power.
Both biden and his camp and trump and his camp are spewing out divisive rhetoric. They're both playing the same game and it seems like both the left and right are actually working together - just not in public. Both sides WANT us as divided as we can get.
The days when there was a clear choice are gone and now a days it doesn't matter who wins cause either one has been bought and paid for especially since all the 'conservative' judges on the sc decided that corporations are people and that money = speech. Every branch of government is pretty rotten and both parties have that same rot. There's always a few who come along that buck that system but they're weeded out as quickly as possible - just look at what happened to Tulsi Gabbard.
I remember when I was a kid if the candidate my parents voted for lost they still felt that the country would still be okay. I don't think anyone feels that way anymore.
It seems like they're taking the people for granted and pushing us more and more to see exactly how much they can get away with. Hopefully I'll be in the 'happy hunting grounds' before the powder keg blows up.
I could definitely be wrong but that how it seems.

GOTDAM JINGLEBELLS!
You're old as dirt. A wagon train to Palm Springs from LA?
That must of took 5 days!
Over 500 yrs old and the skin is still on the body.

Atticus you're entitled to your opinion but I dont see it that way.
There couldn't be more of a stark difference between the policies and effectiveness of those policies between Trump and that of Biden's failing regime.
The Progressive's basically told Biden to literally undo everything Trump did because Trump undid alot Obama's crap and made things better.
And look where we are again... even worse off less than two years in. The WH administration has never been more completely out of touch with reality and the American people.
Whether intentional or not the left is taking this country straight to hell. Look at all the gender fluidity, men getting pregnant, soft on crime nonsense going on.
Everybody KNOWS what's wrong and yet we still have a corporate media spewing the nonsense that things are normal and those who think otherwise are a threat to Democracy.
To act like things are remotely close to normal with Democrats in charge is ridiculous.

I'm leaning in Finch's direction on this one.
Both of our political parties are equally corrupt.
Now, you'll almost never hear this in the media but there are Dems/Reps in DC that work together regularly but too often the narrative is highjacked by their fringes.
At the end of the day, this Republic will end on the trash heap of history, just like every other human political endeavor in the last 10,000 years. You really think America is that special that it will somehow escape being trillions in debt?
Watch Ray Dalio's How Empires End, complete debasement of the currency because humans are unable to stop from begging their politicians to save them from themselves. Both Medicare and Social Security going under in 10 years or less while your fav pol is burying you in more debt every year? You are fucked, and even better, your clones are even more well and truly fucked.
Rome went from 1 million people and control of the known western world to 20,000 living in ruins scrabbling for food. These historical forces are not controllable by any group of politicians, its fucking laughable that you think they can save you somehow. Add in the coming population implosion which will leave less of you giving blowjobs just to get a little of the bottom tier of Maslows Hierarchy? Damn, I need more popcorn!
Hopefully, I won't live to be 150 and have to watch you begging for your mommy to save you. It's so weak and demeaning.
