I go to air shows because I enjoy aircraft.
I am not the least bit interested in seeing crashes.
Airships for the show. Amazing to see the maneuvers the planes and pilots can make.
NASCAR is both for the strategy and crashes. Just donโt want to see anyone get hurt. But they are crazy driving that close together going so fast.
Enjoy the air show!

Anyone who wants to see a crash is in need of a medication.
Airshow - to see the show. And the Huntington Beach show blows away the Miramar show. Sit on the beach while the planes scream by on the water 100 yards off shore.
NASCAR - it's all about the right turns....

Bring earplugs, sunscreen, water.

The best airshow I ever went to was at Dodger Stadium opening day. Nothing like the 2.1 billion dollar B2 spirit roar over downtown Los Angeles.
The star spangled banner playing, crowds roaring and that sound the B2 makes just caps a perfect day at Dodger Stadium!

never want to see a crash at an air show.....as for NASCAR Im always afraid of a crash from some chucklehead especially if my drivers are in the lead
I go for the show and to be up close and see aircraft I typically would not be able to. Even if the aircraft are parked on the ground. People who go to airshows are usually aviation enthusiasts. I've been to one where a crash occurred. Horrible experience and the crowd reacted as such.....

Bring a hat and sunglasses, and be prepared to stare into the sun.
Let's hope for no right turns at NASCAR. That would mean the car would be going into the grandstands.

Cops who try Pith manuvers could learn how to do it correctly from NASCAR. Earnhardt Sr. was a master for the win.
Not interested in seeing Air crashes cause it means certain death. Nascar on the other hand, amazing how some walk away.
I get enough enjoyment out seeing UPS and Fed X MD-11's landing at Ont. Since I built a part of most of them. Plus I know of a place at March Field where I can watch C-17's and others take off right over head. Or land if Santa Ana winds are happening.

definitely the aircraft and maneuvers... anyone who is there to see a crash needs help...
I think many people like to see (and do) risky things (even death defying feats) but I don't think most folks want to see anyone get hurt.

Hoe awesome. Been there years ago to airshow. Watch them hete in nc when available.

There was a U2/TR-1 that fucking FLEW yesterday. To see an aircraft like that aloft, imagining the history of the men & women who flew them, changing the course of our foreign policy, is an enthralling and unique opportunity.
To hear the engines, like a P-38 flying overhead, and imagining hearing a multitude flying off towards Rabaul, or seeing an F-86 flying behind a MIG 15 like they were in MIG alley, is another reason.
Most of these aircraft require a lot of maintenance, and in time, will no longer be viable to demonstrate in the air. Plus a lot of veterans come out to these, and it's always great being able to see them witness these birds fly again. To hear them reminiscence about a bygone era, and of friends since passed, is also very special.
Enjoy the airshow!

When you go, make sure you have clear bags. They will turn you away if you have a purse or backpack that is not clear for safety reasons.

I'm going tomorrow. I like the aircraft. The LAST thing I want to see is any kind of accident.
Semi public sounds good!

I went for the Saturday show. Great show. Been going for years back when the shows use to be in Irvine at the now defunct El Toro base. The show was crawling with pussy as well as cool aircraft on static display and flying. Also was stationed there for four years with one of the Hornet squadrons as a mechanic for the Hornet. So why the fuck would anyone like to go see a horrific plane crash is beyond me. Sick and twisted to be honest. I've seen many deadly crashes. Other than that great show today.

Blueeyes949... Very well said. Definitely agree.
Semper Fi !!!! OooRaaaah!!!!
Marissa_G. Have fun. It was very hot for the Saturday show. Don't burn. I sure did.

I have been to a few airshows and always enjoy the maneuvers and the ability to get very close to aircraft that otherwise I could not get near.
I would not enjoy seeing a crash.
To see the aircraft, nobody I know wants to see a crash...

To be frank, there are a couple of things that make me wonder about the fascination about crashes.
When traffic is backed up on the freeway because of a crash, the effect of the lookie-loos is evident. The accident may be off to the right and not impeding the physical flow of traffic at all, but as soon as you clear the accident site the freeway is wide open and it's 80 mph again. What are these people hoping to see?
A good example of crashes is the P-51 air race crash in Reno about 10 years ago. If you just search on YouTube for "P-51 Crash" there will be a lot of them, but the ones that get the most views, by far, are the horrific ones, especially the Reno incident (over 3 million views total).
There is definitely a fascination with the crash, and it is seemingly more fascinating if there is carnage involved. Makes you wonder about the underlying psyche of man.
People are naturally morbid and gory.
Allot of times it's the " you see, that will happen to you if you do that" as you were growing up. And then there is the curious. They never seen exposed brains or a decapitated body.
Sounds like op is the man who likes crashes.
send or post air pics
Ahem.......I'm pretty sure OP is a woman bro.
Actually, in a previous blog, it seemed the account is controlled by a dude. A dude was posting then he accidentally responded from the op's account, then went silent in that blog. But this is California where biological sexes don't exist and we are all "its" anyway.

I didn't read the blog in its entirety, but Islandtalent, Ego and I caught a few of the Jets flying over the La Jolla Towne Center yesterday, and it was pretty awesome
There are such few incidents at air shows around the country, I doubt anyone is really watching for a disaster.
The maneuvers are amazing and the aircraft are even more so.
Bird all I can say is, " oooof " oh my goodness .
Crashes at air shows are horrible. Nobody wants to see that. Never does a pilot walk away.
Crashes at NASCAR events are totally different. The expectation is the driver is gonna walk away. Usually no horror involved.
did anyone get pics of the actual AIRSHOW.
OR IS THIS JUST A BLOG ABOUT who is woman or ts lOL

^ is that with the Chinese Alloy Magnets?

HAAAH!!!! Yes sir. You're absolutely right.^^^

Yep Semper Fidelis! 25 years. Navy-Marine Corps pilots cannot be beat by ANY other pilots in the world. They are the elite. Why? Mindset. They are hungry dogs who will not stop until their mission is complete.

Semper Fi my brother๐๐ป^^

This dude ran the steam cleaner on tire detail.
Wonderful show, as usual. Although I was struck by how many traffic cones they had. They must have borrowed every one of them in SD county!
I actually counted them.
I have seen an airshow crash with a fatality. it's a bit traumatizing and I would never wish for that, almost all air crashes end in death.
Now auto racing is another story. I get the same seats at Long Beach, right at the end of the back straightaway, because the most crashes are there. I love to see bent up shit on the race track, it's exciting! And 99 times out of 100, the driver walks away without a scratch! I have seen dozens of crashes here over the years, and every single driver walked away...some walked over to the other driver and took a swing at him but, hey...that's racing!
HB airshow coming up next weekend...
yes the aircraft, the speed, the show..
I think there are plenty of people driving down a freeway who will slow down or stop to gawk at a traffic accident, a fire along the road or the police giving someone a ticket.
I think there are a lot fewer people that will spend most of the day driving to an air show and watching the show in the hope there will be an airplane crash.
think heard a few jets buzz the home today
last year was going good...then abruptly ended with oil spill off shore
