Global oil prices are not all that high. Supply is not a problem.
In fact the reason why OPEC cut production cause they anticipate even less demand in the coming months.
We keep hearing problems with US refineries. They keep getting shutdown for one reason or another. This is what Enron did in the early 2000's to rip off the West Coast during the manufactured energy crisis.
When you guys going to realize this is a manufactured problem created by the US oil industry.

Back on topic, it seems that the OPEC nations want to have a super power in their pocket, as they seem more distrustful of China’s long game and how OPEC can deal with them. OPEC needs to come into negotiations from a position of power, and hobbling both the US, Europe and Russia in a few moves gives it that leverage.
The OPEC nations seem to understand that the conflict will escalate to a point where a Russian fuel supplies become hot targets before the Ukraine conflict ends.
