Dems didn't think those people were worth the money at the time...the reality was they wanted the million more pouring thru...bringing death and destruction each year from the china shit coming thru and the girls trying to make the trip. most would not even TRY if the barriers were up and running

It was always illegal... all matters of immigration are under the purview of congress...he knew when he did it that it was illegal... no one in government had the balls to say it though.

Repubs still remember how they got burned by the Reagan amnesty. Congress and the Executive Branch promised to secure the border, but they never did it. Illegals continued to pour across the border.
Now Repubs are saying secure the border first, then we'll talk about comprehensive immigration reform. Sounds reasonable to me.

even with a majority in the Senate we still have that gutless prick RINO McConnell, he is a big part of the problem, as is Kevin McCarthy in the House....We need someone like Rick Scott or Tim Scott in the Senate and Jim Jordan in the House

There is no obtainable compromise on immigration because it is the political life blood of conservatives. If the problem is solved they lose their main voter motivation, so they do not want it solved. For Democrats, the issue is manifold: the filibuster, a wider umbrella of constituents, and honest differences of opinion.
Alexander the Great solved the riddle of the Gordian knot which could not be untied by hand. He cut it in half with his sword.
That is what DACA is. Obama cut the intractable dilemma with a swift swipe of the Executive sword. And gave some 700,000 innocents peace and hope, a larger amount than the number of Jews we accepted as refugees before the Holocaust.
I used to think humans were fundamentally decent and capable of being moved by history and outraged by despair. Then I started reading hx blogs.
