Where is the haunted hayride? Never heard of it, but I’d like to go.

The amusement parks can be a little tame but universal studios is great due to the graphics and the movie themes. Knott's is much tamer however. But you should still try them out just for kicks.

If you are truly dating there is a haunted bars in Los Angeles, there is the HMS Bounty Off of Wilshire and the Bar Henry in echo park.
I mention these because I’ve experienced/“seen out of the corner of my eye” the “lonely man” at the Bounty who sits at one of the booths when it is not crowded. Staff there tell me about seeing a Lonely patron sitting at table, and one of the staff asks another to check on him. You see him when you walk to your table or walk around, but when you get in front a second later he is gone.
I can confirm this is true, and you never get a clear view of who it is, but you sense the person out of the corner of your eye.
Bar Henry has a playful spirit who leaves candy under your drink napkin or receipt. Jolly rancher or wrapped gum drop. You don’t notice it until you put your hand on the paper and feel it. And the paper feels colder than usual.
Still have my ghost candy in my “strange souvenirs” kit.
I have more haunted bar stories from other gin joints around the globe.

I plan to scare everyone by dressing up as a gas station price board. Every hour I plan to increase the price.

You should look into the 17th Door. They are not tame at all. You actually have to sign a waiver to go through this maze, but it's legit.
