Actually he helped but an end to segregation in Los Angeles by bringing together Latinos, blacks, and whites to his live DJ shows. I remember his popular call in show where listeners would dedicate songs to their lovers and loved ones. I remember the nicknames some of the callers used in those dedications. Like from squeaky to little man. Many were to loved ones in prison. He was more than just a dj. “Those oldies but goodies remind me of you “
