Samuel Westmoreland, 19, of Tupelo, Mississippi was an industrial technology major. Athletics Director John Cohen said the Bulldogs are heartbroken by the sudden loss of Westmoreland.

1. I dont think everyone else knows about this stuff. When I tell people about these sudden deaths that happen every day, they dont know what Im talking about.

Not everyone needs to get an annual Covid booster, according to the head of pharma giant Moderna who also likened the virus to seasonal flu.
His comments seem to be at odds with the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) which is urging everyone over the age of five to get boosted.

Comments:
Our models have improved drastically since the original one put out by Imperial College in 2020. With a better understanding of COVID, we can produce probabilistic forecasts that can measure uncertainty in the results. We didn't have that in March of 2020, when uncertainty wasn't assessed about the use of controversial mitigations.
But these modes about saving lives through COVID vaccinations have high certainty, being associated with small intervals of uncertainty.

New evidence points to a favorable outcome in rare cases (less than 5 over 100,000) of myocarditis in younger males who have taken the Pfizer COVID vaccine.
Cases of myocarditis were mild and benign over a followup period of 6 months. Good prognosis.
You can find the new article in the New England Journal of Medicine. I can't link it for obvious reasons.

I'd like to see 6-month followup data on Moderna in this population, which perhaps due to its higher mRNA content, has led to more complications in this population than Pfizer.
If you are a younger male in perfect health who's had COVID, you don't need the vaccine. If you are a younger male who has pre-existing conditions that could lead to a more severe case, the benefits outweigh the potential risks IMO. I'd recommend Pfizer over Moderna due to its lower risk of myocarditis.

Forced vaccinations resulting in serious health problems and deaths.
Young people's lives wrecked due to school shutdowns.
Businesses put out of business
But the homeless and illegals were not required to get vaccinated.
People should have a choice in whether to get vaccinated, not be forced.
This idea that saving lives at all costs has resulted in a lot of damage to
society.
Who was dying of covid? Mostly the elderly. Most who were not in the workforce.
But whose lives were wrecked? Young and healthy people.
If there is another pandemic, the govt will have to take a different approach.

@Dr.Boogie. It was a mistake to have vaccine mandates because the COVID vaccines aren't great at preventing the virus from being passed onto others, particularly after the first few months. I would feel differently if they blocked transmission, say by 50%, leading to significantly fewer, less destructive waves.
The serious health problems from vaccines appear to be very rare and the deaths resulting the vaccine are super rare. J&J definitely has problems with blood clots in women, but, again, it was very rare, and J&J is now off the recommended vaccine list. Myocarditis is rare in younger males and prognosis is usually good. I don't buy into this new result by the Florida Department of Health of increased cardiac death due to the vaccine. (I've seen undergraduates do better research).
Yes, schools should have been kept open, but we had mixed data for a while as to the question of increasing transmission due to open schools.
The nationwide closures and stay-at-home-orders were mitigations of last resort that we undertook because surveillance of the virus was poor. With better surveillance, closures would be much more focused and therefore cause less damage.
We're not just concerned about old people. The obesity rate in the US is about 40 percent. The same percentage of people have at least one pre-existing condition. Many of those people are at higher risk of having a severe case. That's a lot proportion of our society.

I should say I don't think there aren't any side effects associated with the vaccine. I recall Eric Clapton claiming he had neurological symptoms after, and I believe him. I do think for 99.99% of people they are transient and relatively mild.

The anti-nucleocaspid antibody is a marker for the presence of SARS-CoV-2. The vaccine is doing its job and prevents the concentration of the COVID virus to get as high in the vaccinated group as in the unvaccinated group. That's why the copy number of the virus is lower in the vaccinated group.
Another way of saying this is the vaccinated group clears the virus faster than the unvaccinated. As a result, fewer vaccinated people will have the anti-nucleocaspid marker, marking the presence of past infection.

No deaths among the several thousand coworkers who took the Moderna covid vaccine. I have not had any type of ill effects from the vaccine. I'm at shot number 5, the 3rd booster available.
