I don’t have an electric car but you can guarantee that when powering up your electric car it will be on USA generated power. You can import electricity from other countries.

Electric vehicles cause waaaayyyyy more harm to the environment to produce, use and dispose of. They too use some form of oil to lubricate parts.
US electric comes from coal which is a fossil fuel. Never gonna get away from fossil fuels.
EVs are to “environmental conscious” people as BLM is to non colored liberals. It’s a virtue signal.

Prior to Biden, we produced more oil than we could use so were EXPORTING oil.
Now we don't due to Brain Dead Biden, and now are a net IMPORTER of oil.

We do not have the infrastructure built for the increased electrical demand , nor do we have enough water for the thousands upon thousands of homes Newsom is demanding we build. Add the electric car chargers and electric stoves into the mix. Hell, we didn't have enough electricity during the heat wave. How much more can California take before it implodes.

They dropped all production because there was no money in pumping oil.
Shale oil production was abandoned.

When did I ever say it was not important? You are deflecting.
My point is simply that government has no impact on the price of oil or its production. This is straight up the work of the free market. Oil companies are making a killing right now …why would they want to devalue their products by working harder to supply more product? People’s anger is displaced. That my entire point.

Electric cars are an alternative to getting off oil dependency. Nobody is saying we are ready to cut off the tit of oil but getting more electric cars out there helps. This is not something that can be done is 10 years but JFC let government have goals to get there cause we need a push.
