"26 and 27, free money to piss away as you please but no. We can't trust adults with their own money? Good choice."
No sports betting? WTF? Whoever is in charge of the Proposition 26 campaign should be demoted.
At least we don't live in a backwards Republican state that wants to ban abortion.

So the I 10 East doesnât lead to Boom Boom?

I do prefer the political climate in FL.
California is a beautiful place but LA is not really one of them, apart from the beaches.the only prop i voted yes on was the 2% because im pretty sure those 2% are dems and they can take it on the nose.

5th largest economy in the world.
Really poorly run....shut up.
|
|
I have no idea which props you were for or against. I voted yes on abortion and BC, yes on both gambling props, yes on the arts funding for schools, no on the EV surcharge, yes on banning flavored tobacco, no on kidney dialysis.
|
|
Prop 1 - For even though not really necessary.
26 & 27 - For. Why would anybody vote against these?
28 - Couldn't care less about this one.
29 - No
30 - No
31 - No. Anybody that thinks flavored vapes entices those it should not are not too smart, although I see why it would pass.
|
|
Prop 26, tribes would be able to file nuisance lawsuits against the existing card clubs, state should get better cut off of the profit. Bad deal.
27- State should get a better cut of the profits, like the other states that legalized online gambling. Bad deal.
Both the tribes and online gambling sites will have to come back with better deals.
|
|
Prop 26 and 27 would have passed with ease if online betting companies and Indian tribes werenât so damn dishonest and greedy. Plenty of money to be made for both sides.
All these ads were about ending homelessness and keeping our promise to Indian tribes . What a bunch of horseshit.
Make commercials with babes falling over nerds while they bet on football games on their phones and this would have passed easy.
I voted yes on both but just a horrible campaign and they lost half a billion dollars in advertising .
|
|
NO on all of them except 28
As usual, just a bunch of typical CA garbage
At least there wasn't the usual Trillion dollar bond issuance to save our schools
Newscum tells Floridians to come join us in the freedom capital of CA
And, we're passing bans on flavored vapes?
You just can't make this shit up, it's so fucking absurd.
|
|
Not really a fan of getting breathed on by vape breath to be honest, and flavored vapes are more addictive, and I don't really want to be on the hook for your lung disease later in life. That's why I voted yes on the flavored vapes. I understand the other side though.

Is it not crystal clear that the far-right morons, who continually post in these blogs, lost big in the 2022 midterm elections? Almost all of the many election deniers lost their elections. Trump is dead politically, and if he runs again, heâll take DeSantis and the GOP down the toilet with him.
Democracy has won over your fascistic tendencies. Go fuck yourselves.
But please feel free to continue bitching about California politics. Losers.
And FYI: Putin was banking on a big Republican win (Republican politicians, including McCarthy, said they would block funding Ukraine when they took over Congress). The day after the elections, after the Red Wave fizzled, Russia pulled out of Kherson which was a major blow to Putin.
|
|
There was no Red Wave.
Of course, I guess the people have spoken.
They want high inflation, high energy costs, open borders, rampant crime, government control of what is taught in schools, increased taxes to pay for college loans and services to illegal immigrants, etc.
Of course, no one was really told that this is what they voted for.....they were told that Republicans were going to take away Medicare and Social Security, keep anyone from having an abortion and destroying our democracy.
We had the Big Lie, and now we have the Big Con.
Congratulations....and I don't want to hear anyone whining and bitching about gas prices, inflation, mortgage rates, winter heating costs, increased crime, etc. YOU voted for it.
|
|
Youâre absolutely right, Jazz.
The take-home message from the midterms is the public wants higher prices.
It couldnât possibly be that Republicans offered no policies or strategies to control inflation/reduce prices, that they actually did plan to cut social security, or that maybe women enjoy taking control over their own bodies, or that election deniers were Republicans anti-democratic, etc.

LOL @ MA
Thinking that if he posts it, that makes it true
Both shit parties got their fascists
Yours just likes a blue swastika instead of a red one
There's NO bigger nanny state than a blue state
Guess what, that's fascism too
I guess as long as it agrees with your politics
Then it's not fascism, lol
As I've said many times, the only good Prog is a dead one
That way the Dems and Reps can carry on in their usual shitty way
Just gotta kill the far right/far left wackos............like MA
We agree on one thing, DJT is dead man walking politically
Narcissist that he is, he'll never see it until they push him off a cliff
|

By the way, you dumb shit.............the topic is propositions
Not your general take on all things political
As if anyone cared what your thoughts are
Tell us how your dumbase voted on the props...............dumbase
|
|
Mildly....put up or shut up.
Where did the Republicans as a party and a whole say they are cutting Medicare and Social Security? They didn't, the Dems lie about it. Of course, the Republicans are realistic and fully understand that as currently configured, both Medicare and Social Security will run out of money soon. Depending upon whose numbers and projections, 2026-2029 for Medicare and 2034-2035 for Social Security. You can ignore that or you can take a big dose of medicine and realize changes ARE needed. But Dems don't want to accept that all of the other give away programs, including college debt get in the way of financing programs like Medicare and Socia Security.
The Republicans fully understand our inflation is significantly tied to throttling down of the energy sector by the Dems. Every commodity is more expensive because it costs far more to transport it. We need to move to renewable energy, but it must be done in an organized fashion....you can't stop the sale of gasoline vehicles until you can actually supply alternative vehicles and can properly charge them. But Dems don't want any reality checks to destroy their plan. Even the head of Toyota has said it can't be done in the timetable being proposed.
Republicans support the Supreme Court decision. Abortion is a STATE issue, and should be handled at a state level. Most Republicans are not opposed to abortion, just not without restrictions. Taking a life (medically viable at 22 or 23 weeks) is kind of important and I guess just not in the Democratic vernacular.
A few hundred people who actually 'stormed' the Capitol, versus those who wandered in often with doors held open by the Capitol policy did NOT destroy this democracy. If that is destroying democracy, what about the riots in the summer of 2020, when far more damage was done, far more people were killed, far more people were injured, and MULTIPLE government locations were 'stormed' .
.
|
|
Graham has floated a nationwide abortion ban after 15 weeks so I wouldn't say that Republicans are content with making it a state issue.
I think the topic of the GOP plan and Medicare and social security is a bit more nuanced; their current plan does not have them cutting SS or medicare, but it's been floated by conservative think tanks that have by and large had the ear of the party leaders. Also they have talked about privatizing both for decades and as far as I can tell privatizing would result in a much less stable social security fund, and increased costs for medicare.

Prop 26 would have gave a monopoly to larger tribes at the expense of smaller tribes and independent game rooms. It would have allowed tribes to frivolously sue game rooms -- kind of like how Trump is desperately flailing about right now, so I guess that's why Republicans LOVE that, taking a shit all over our legal system.
Prop 27 included a clause where only an arbitrarily large payment to the state could allow a gambling company to operate in the state, in essence creating a monopoly for a couple of the largest corporations and shutting out all the rest.
Anyone who voted yes to Prop 26 or 27 REALLY HATES capitalism and free market... or can't read.
|
|
^ a great explanation of the two.... I voted no on both. The large tribal casinos are already operated by Vegas interest and are attempting to screw the smaller tribes. AND Vegas interest again trying to elbow ot any competition.
Back in the day Vegas politicized against any states attempt to legalize gambing... now they just seek to monopolize in any state.

@Jazz51
***GOP vs Social Security and Medicare
Follow the linked article, or Google Social Security Medicare and Rick Scott and Mitt Romney.
***Funding Social Security and Medicare
In FY 2022, the Department of Defense (DOD) received $1.94 Trillion in funding. How about we shave 5% to 10% off of the DODâs budget and fund these social programs?
The US currently spend more than the rest of the world combined on defense. I donât want a weak military, but reducing the budget by a reasonable amount will not be felt at all.
***Inflation is significantly tied to throttling down of the energy sector by the Dems
Iâm going to explain this to you one more time. The energy sector was not throttled because there is plenty of oil available to be pumped out of the ground and sold.
Oil companies are opportunistically raising prices by reducing the amount of oil that they pump out of the ground. They have the capacity to increase oil production but they are not; restricting supply increases the price of oil, when then makes all goods more expensive because they need to be transported to stores and consumers.
If oil companies were fair, they would maintain their profit margins or grow them at a reasonable rate. That is now what oil companies are doing. Since their profits are increasing dramatically, their costs are not a factor at all in the equation. Therefore, they are intentionally fucking over the public by artificially increasing prices to make more profits.
The following only concerns California but is happening all over the country/world:
As gas price hikes hit Californians at the pump, oil companies and their refinery operations made record profits in only three months from July to September:
* Phillips 66 profits jumped to $5.4 billion, a 1243% increase over last yearâs $402 million;
* BP posted $8.2 billion in profits, its second-highest on record, with $2.5 billion going towards share buybacks that benefit Wall Street investors;
* Marathon Petroleum profits rose to $4.48 billion, a 545% increase over last yearâs $694 million.
Phillips 66 and Marathon operate refineries in the state that have raised costs on Californians despite the cost of crude declining, blaming such increases on refinery maintenance and other issues.
This follows Valeroâs $2.82 billion in profits that were 500% higher than the year before, PBF Energyâs $1.06 billion that was 1700% higher than the year before, Shellâs $9.45 billion haul that sent $4 billion to shareholders for stock buybacks, Exxonâs highest-ever $19.7 billion in profits, and Chevronâs $11.2 billion in profits.
âBig oil is making record profits by ripping off Californians. They said high prices were because of war, state taxes and maintenance, but now we know that was all a facade â these high prices went straight to their bottom line,â said Governor Newsom. âA price gouging penalty will put these windfall profits back in the pockets of Californians.â
Now tell me again how this is Biden's fault. It is embarrassing if you can't understand that corporate greed is causing inflation now.
***Abortion
You wrote: "Republicans support the Supreme Court decision. Abortion is a STATE issue, and should be handled at a state level. Most Republicans are not opposed to abortion, just not without restrictions. Taking a life (medically viable at 22 or 23 weeks) is kind of important and I guess just not in the Democratic vernacular."
Lindsey Graham introduced a bill for a national federal abortion ban despite earlier claiming that it was a state issue. Many in the GOP were pissed that he announced this prior to the midterms. Republicans cannot be trusted.
*** January 6
Beyond January 6, which was often characterized as a "tourist excursion" by gaslighting Republicans, ELECTION DENIERS are the real threat to democracy.
Before they even had the election, many election deniers (like Kari Lake) claimed that there is fraud to make everyone question the legitimacy of elections. Trump even questioned the results in Texas despite winning the vote in Texas in 2020. Why? He (and Republicans like him) wanted to diminish confidence in our electoral system so that these Neo-facists can seize power illegitimately.
Amazingly, the American public, sick of these far right losers, voted against almost all of the election deniers in the 2020 midterm election.
By the way, the Democrats just won control of the Senate. The GOP is getting what it deserved.

This blog was about the propositions you stupid mother fucker. Not Trump or Repubes .vs Democraps. Jesus. Try to focus just a little bit.
Biggest problem with voters is they can't actually focus on the issues, and look at their mail to decide how to vote.
|
|
@ RobBlakeFan, no need to be cunty.
All seven propositions, as the votes currently stand, are aligned with the way I voted.
It is usually impossible to understand the propositions since they are often intentionally written confusingly, so I suspect most people did what I did and sought opinions on each measure from various authorities (public policy experts on the local news and in local publications) which broke down and analyzed each proposition.
I agreed with the recommendations the experts were making and voted accordingly.

Thank you for voting for all the same politicians that have created these problems of California. 1.High sales tax,gas tax, income tax. 2. Out of control homeless population. 3.Out of control criminal activities. Follow home robbery, smash and grab, strong arm robbery, dog kidnapping, car jacking,etc.4. High inflation rates.
