Trump is running for President again.
He started out giving a powerful speech -- I don't know how many facts were correct -- but facts aren't his strong suit. His overall message is that America did well under him, is now going to the birds, and when he's President we'll be strong again.
But then instead of closing, he started repeating himself and rambling. To me that shows a lack of discipline that others like DeSantis have.

By the way dumbasses, a poll just came out and 52% of the people who voted during the midterms said Trump wasn’t a factor in their vote, and 24% said Trump motivated them to vote Republican and 22% motivated them to vote Democrat. The last 2% with unsure or other answers. This idea that Trump had a significant impact on the midterm election is a Mitch McConnell bullshit wet dream.

Some people will vote Republican or Democrat no matter what, but a small number of each party and independents will be swayed by differences in candidate quality.
Trump lied a lot in his speech last night, as expected. He claims that over 200 candidates that he supported won and only around 20 lost.
What he didn't say is that the 200 that won were in ruby red areas and the 20 or so that lost were in close races. The fact that Kari Lake didn't win in Arizona, a traditionally red state, is a direct reaction to her election denying/Trump loving stance. Trump's support of Dr. Oz didn't help him win. And there were many, many election deniers running for various offices that lost as well. If the public believed Trump's big lie that he had actually won the 2020 election, then you would have expected all of those election deniers to win.
Given the state of the economy and how badly Biden polls, there should have been a huge red wave. What actually happened is the best showing of a party of a first term president in the midterms in 90 years. He can spin it all he wants, but that is why Trump is toxic to the Republicans.
