Pro shot
|
|
Some of the "pro" pictures are just guys with an SLR camera offering "free" photoshoots in hopes of some quid pro quo, so their pictures suck, you can get better from a modern smart phone.
But with that being said, a real pro will snap the lens, sure, but more important is the composition.
I see too many pics of girls doing selfies in the mirror with tons of crap in the background, let alone on the bathroom sink - in a dirty mirror. Ugh.
you take lazy pic, how are you going to be in bed? Equally lazy?
For the pros, just the arrangement might be worth the price for some gals.

i have some uploaded to my IG that are amazing and i just booked a nude shoot for monday!
its also because some "pro" photographers arent really professionals. just a dude with a camera looking for a trade or free rights to photos of ladies

Very true June, best thing to do is see examples of their work. Even ask their. clients if you can find out who they are.

Pro pics that arent bad.

My recommendation:
Besides looking at their portfolio.
If you want to go with a pro photographer, show them the kind of pics you want to take, and ask them how they would duplicate the staging, lighting, amount of shadows, how much post-production (photoshop edits) are needed.... technical questions.
If they know their stuff they should be able to give you solid "layman's terms" of how the shoot would be composed to re-create the shot. If not, then you would be able to detect bullshit and back out.

A professional photographer doesn't shoot for free; will tolerate zero drama or critique of pics (unless being paid), they pay attention to the background and horizons; they also know that they need releases. I see pro pics and wonder, "what's the point?" , many are harshly over lit, Granted on HX it might be fun once or twice or with a regular, but it can get boring, really fast, the ladies, with a few exceptions aren't models and really just need pics to represent themselves for marketing purposes. The only way to get true professional pics is to pay $$ and then, it's not art unless it's in a gallery or published, HX is about marketing.

what does it take to get pro photos
1. a great location - personally i love shooting outside.
but whats the location - if its public it might be hard to get privacy.
i have shot nudes at Blacks beach, the salton sea, coral canyon,el matadore beach etc etc.
its challenging, you better know what you are doing or youre wasting a lot of time and resources.
i have also shot at mansions with private areas, paid thousands/day - even shot at the magic castle a couple times and many million dollar homes - these places have no one living there, they rented out for shoots and commercials etc.
Many of these also have great indoor spots, couches, bedrooms, kitchens, stairs etc etc, it takes a creative and experienced eye to envision the best "sets" - I could easily shoot 10 sets in a day.
2.lighting
natural light - love it but it can be challenging especially the harsh light we have in so cal, really a couple hours before sunset is the best for natural light, you can remove some shadows by using a "fill" flash or reflectors or scrims to remove the harsh light.
flash - these work several together, you need to know how to "light" your set, use a light meter and meter each strobes from the models position.
we could easily use 5 strobes.
3. hair, make up and wardrobe
yes trust me, a professional can make a huge difference. and they can help with wardrobe.
wardrobe makes a big difference - hopefully the model has some sexy outfits.
personally i love shooting stockings/thigh highs.
4.equipment
nikon / canon / sony with professional lenses.
flash strobes with triggers etc.
million different gadgets to use in specific and special lighting circumstances.
like in any other craft, the right tools makes the job much easier to accomplish.
5.crew - A great experienced crew is very important - I was mostly working with a crew of 4-5 people, 1-2 gaffs, one videographer and one photographer, one make up person.

Agree with all above
My photographer is not on hx. He's also gay so I don't feel uncomfortable at all but I found him on IG. I paid 350 for my photos , you get 4 outfit changes and all of the raw photos as well as 60 edited ones of your choice
If you want less looks and edits, he starts off at about 100 though you can catch holiday deals here and there .
He has bunches of professional studio locations to choose from as well and specializes in different styles. Vintage , couture /fashion , sexy/nude/OF, and so much more . The only thing is makeup, hair and outfits are not provided.
Surprisingly a lot of women can't find great photographers because they aren't willing to pay for the quality .

Gorgeous photos posted above AND June.Moon has booked a nude shoot for Monday! The holidays are coming early this year.
I read somewhere that the three most important things for any good photo (professional or not) is 1) the subject, 2) the lighting and 3) composition -- the way things are arranged in the photo. For this site, I think simple is best and composition does not matter for many of us guys -- we're focused on the person we're thinking of meeting so keep things uncluttered, representative and simple. Artsy, professional photos are cool but I don't think they make many guys more interested in meeting here. It is nice to see a mixture of unfiltered professional and non pro photos in an album.
As shown by the ladies posting in this blog, the subject will be gorgeous so that just leaves lighting and I think that's where the eye, equipment and experience of a professional can pay off. Equipment like a a great camera, backdrops etc are all important but a beautiful woman in good lighting is hard to beat.
Once you have the raw photos, there are editing programs that you can use to crop, blur your face change to black and white, etc. I don't care for filters. I've seem some awesome selfies that ladies took with just a camera phone but you can't fix bad lighting.
For any ladies on a budget that have a good photo they want to edit before posting, a free and easy to use picture editor is Photoscape, linked below. You can crop, rotate, brighten, blur, resize, create a animated GIF plus a lot more.

I don't like how common it is to airbrush them. Often it gets so extreme that the women don't look real. It looks so obvious and cheap. You shouldn't be paying for that.

I don't know about other men, but I've developed a pretty strong bullshit sensor through experience. Commercial hype will implant an idea for what people want, but when it comes to examining the actual product (whether you're buying a used car, a collectible, computer parts or anything), it's just a distraction.
For that reason, a straight up mirror selfie is the most important photo in your portfolio. If I see all model pics, I assume you have something to hide.
If there's an eBay listing of something that only has photos with dramatic lighting and odd angles, then no one in their right minds would buy it. The only model photo necessary is the cover photo to catch people's attention. The rest of them should just be normal pics.

This is an artist photography not from his camera but from a phone camera but was interesting and fun 🤩
|
|
Yum, can I see you with the pig head on? lol
|
|
I kindly disagree
|
|
Sorry fiji, would have to disagree with you on this one. not in focus. better get your photog some glasses..
maybe he/she meant to use a haze filter, but even then.. not in focus.
a phone picture would have been better and that is saying much.

Here are my photos from the shoot
Raw.. unedited.. no filter and 100% gourmet chocolate
I'll post the others when I get them but so far I love my pics and I love my photographer
|

Kudos to all the ladies post photos here. All look very nice.
|
|
Pro Photographer here. I have shot MANY ladies here over the years. Some of these even have my previous handle.
|
|
DRPW is the guy. Been to several of his open shoots. Always amazed on how his pics come out when I know what the model looks like in person.
|
|
I wish I could find ladies interested in a structured planned session.

@ hrnymrdmn75
Yes those shoots were fun! And having spectators at the shoot sometimes brings out more in the subject when they are into it.
