DeSantis seems to have an incredible ability to figure out what policies are going to be popular with the modern Republican base before other Republican politicians do, like with schools & masks during the pandemic. In reality, I think he has an amazing communications department (including himself), which is better & faster at organizing & promoting his administrative priorities (that usually cater to the right-wing Republican base) than the departments of other Republican politicians. Trump said as much (if you can believe him).
The problem with DeSantis is the same problem I have with Trump. He caters to the Republican base, which I believe is more extreme now than at any other time since I've been alive. (So is the Democratic base, by the way). Pence & Pompeo are at least trying to balance between having positions that the Republican base will support and other positions that will resonate with neglected moderates. For example, Pence claimed that there were election "irregularities" & likely fraud in the 2020 election, a position that may endear him to the Republican base, but then said it's not the reason why they lost, a position that moderates can be comfortable with. (This is just one example).
I was a moderate Republican and could support Pence or Pompeo because I feel they are at least willing to expand the tent a bit and represent someone like me. I don't feel that way about Trump or DeSantis. I used to feel that way about Biden but not recently.

Now that supply chains are improving were are 8% inflation, but energy inflation will be more near impossible to defeat since energy supply will not improve in a couple of years, It takes years to bring on new energy supplies.

Jazzman, trip on this. USA has about 4% of the oil reserves in the entire world. Russia has 8% or so(speculative) Venezuela has the rest like 16%. Other countries have 2,1,3 % etc.
Why not buy the fuck out of foreign oil, deplete the foreign reserves so that the USA can keep it's stash for future generations. Sound good? That way in the year 2320 when WW5 let's loose, our great great grand fuckwads will have fuel to power their mach3 floating starcruiser carriers into battle.
We can't suck it all down in one big gulp. We can't just think of our greedy selves.
This is why we have to start using solar and wind and build San Onofre power plants for electricity. How does that sound?
