Actually quite sad, He lived a good life
So sad. I'm happy that he's no longer suffering and that he was humanely sent to the angels.
Like I hate to think this way but how’s this beautiful animal get named p22 and die in 2022🤨
I’ve followed this cat like I’m sure some of us all have
I’m sad to learn this! What a magnificent animal

P22 definitely needs a monument placed atop the bridge built on his behalf.
P22 should replace the Bear on the California flag. The flag has a depiction of a Bear. But P22 was an actual part of our family.
Anyone agree?

RIP Big brave Kitty
Good idea, Seymour. RIP P22. California needs to stop destroying mountain lion habitat to build more endless suburbs. There will never be enough houses in desirable areas like OC.
Only in LA would politicians propose, and residents support a "wildlife bridge" from the forest across the freeway into the city and neighborhoods so wild animals and apex predators like P22 can cross over the freeways and terrorize the people who live in the cities and suburbs.
And then we have leftist morons organizing hikes, candlelight vigils, and shedding tears over the most dangerous animal roaming the City! The thing should have been relocated or euthanized long ago!!! It entered the zoo once and killed and ate a koala bear, for God's sake!!!
Good riddance to a dangerous pest!

yellowB2 They were here first. FWIW, the HW cuts through the preserve/canyon not the other way around. As humans, we put up barriers preventing animals from keeping populations under check. bears, coyotes, bobcats, foxes, deer, rats etc... they all have a place and purpose regardless if you like to admit or not.
B52 is just playing.
I fear one day B52 will snap and carpet bomb Southern California.
Definitely a legend. When I went on hikes in the park I was always hoping to come across the beautiful cat. Being a Tabie we are kinda I’m the same breed, my brother from another mother. 🙏❤️❤️❤️🐈⬛
Anyone crossing freeways deserves a monument. I used to camp every summer in Griffith Park. I cam see why the cat made it his home.
Agreed. Tabie and P22 = Legendary pussy.🍆
They killed that cat. They knew what they were going to do once they captured him ahead of time. They put P 22 down because he killed a couple of people's pets. They made up some stupid story that they felt everyone would believe about him being ill, which we all know what is total bull shit.

What!? All Dogs Go To Heaven wasn't a true story?
Reincarnation?
Nine lives!
Wilhch he ran out of.
A Trooper, that never gave up.
A fighter to the end.
People are more dangerous than mountain lions .
I wonder how many dogs and cars P22 gatherd as his vanguard to Mountain Lion Valhalla!!!
There are 4,000 - 6,000 mountain kitties in CA
Sad to see one go but there's plenty more waiting to eat your ugly pet
RIP Pussy22

Folks you never want to get up close and personal with a cougar.
It would kill you. City people don't have a clue about wild animals.
Gballs, P22 was our Kitty Katy, that's the difference.
And Grumpy dude, don't tell them that. We actually want dumbasses to take selfys with them.
Let me clarify I would not get up and cuddly I was referring a glance at a distance
I sometimes forget the way people think these days 🐈⬛🤪
I have ridden my horse for thousands of hours over the past 20 years with all the animals in Griffith Park. We will all miss the Great P22.

2004 SoCal
Nicholls leaped off her bike and threw it at the lion. Nothing. She grabbed Hjelle’s legs in a frantic tug of war with 122 pounds of bone and muscle.
As the lion pulled, Hjelle’s face started to come apart. Other mountain bikers threw rocks. Finally, the animal let go. There was so much blood, Hjelle struggled to breathe. She tried to put a slab of hanging skin back on her cheek.
Someone called 911. Soon, a helicopter rushed Hjelle to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo.
Later it was discovered the mountain lion earlier that day had killed Mark Reynolds, a 35-year-old mountain biker from Foothill Ranch. The animal was shot and killed.

I feel for the prey. But chalk one up for nature.
Another entitled way of thinking semi elites have thinking this world belongs to them.
Next time ride your mountain bike thru So Central and see what happens. If you don't pac some form of protection, you become prey.
A simple machete or a black powder 8 inch 12 gage would suffice in both scenarios. Fight for you life. It depends on it.
The moral of the story. Keep treading on the jungle like you belong there and watch you get ate.
If you live near the hills, know predators like large cars and coyotes are always hungry, and just behaving as nature intended. If your precious Shits-Zu gets munched out, news flash........you set it up.
Dude I said cars.
Cars eat gas.
There are exceptions for playing with cougars.
They must only have 2 two legs and that is the exception.
@Grumpy is absolutely right!
The California Mountain Lion is "pound for pound" the strongest cat in the world! Leopards, Cheetahs, and Panthers want no part of a Mountain Lion. If a Mountain Lion grew to the same size as an African Lion or a Tiger, it would shred their ass. It's a really dangerous animal. Forget about the Coyote...those are just wild dogs.
And while people say "we are in their habitat" lots of things are in that very habitat that we destroy for our safety and convenience -- ants, spiders, roaches, rats and mice, etc. We don't want that shit around.
Do you want an animal roaming your neighborhood that could snatch and eat a small yuteful human when you're not looking? And even if you are looking, if that cat wants your small yuteful human that came from your loins, there's nothing you're gonna do about it...kitty gotta eat! Kitty's taking it, and fucking you up bad in the process.
So forget about your pup or your cat, those tasty morsels are in the food chain now...and where's the love for the poor Koala we hauled to the L.A. Zoo to entertain us that we threw to the lion...what is this, ancient Rome???

Animals can’t bribe, can’t lobby, and can’t invoke Eminent Domain like POS humans do. All critters must try to survive around Development.
I’m certain that the anti-critter excrement here would cry & scream if the Government suddenly told them that instead of living in their house that due to population overflow - they would be only living in their garage.
Unfortunately for humans yellowB2 is spot on.
Mountain lions will attack and eat anything it chooses within reason.
Mountain Lions Can
Bound up to 40 feet running
Leap 15 feet up a tree
Climb over a 12 foot fence
Travel many miles at 10 mph
Reach speeds of 50 mph in a sprint
Can you escape?

I use to love hikes in the SGV mountains but they closed most of the parking. I carry a can of bear spray now that it's legal to purchase in California. My concerns are bears, cougars, rattle snakes and coyotes. I've see coyotes as big as a German Shepherd, I know it's rare to see them that big but they exist. Just saying when in their territory best have a deterrent so something don't kill you.
One time I wore a lions costume, jumped on this broad and ate her out.
P22 got blamed for that too.
I’m still alive and I get ate daily 😂🐈⬛
I believe I have been blessed with more than nine lives.
XoTabie
You are blessed...that's for sure.
DUUUUDE!
That's the broad! I swear, That's her. I recognize them boobies anywhere.
She got my head in a headlock, and I was screaming like a bitch for help! No one came, but I think she did. My mustache smelled of chic jizz for a week.
Tabie you are so BLESSED! We still have you but I mis P-22
