Any GOP not voting for McCarty or Jeffries is signaling that they will not support McCarthy or any Democrat. It means let's move on to the next serious GOP candidate.
Scalise would be somebody who could bring the GOP together. Not sure if Biggs is still in the mix.

McCarthy finally in on 15th ballot today Friday he convinced 14 to support his nomination. And then in the early hours of Saturday, he finally secured a majority when the final six holdouts chose not to block him.
He has had to make concessions to finally earn the votes

After listening to Hakeem Jeffries’ speech I now know the Democratic Party has no interest in actually solving problems. He was divisive, condescending and babbled on for 11 minutes, bashing Republicans over and over again. He had no interest in actually introducing McCarthy, just grandstanding and being negative. If that is the best the Dems have, I hope they never get control of the House ever again. At some point I do hope Joe and the Dems wake up to inflation, open borders, crime, terrible energy policy and that the American people want change.

McCarthy was voted in as speaker. But several people have stated that he is not for policy
but more for power in the house and not an honest person. Apparently he had to make
concessions to the convervatives who want real change for the people.
We'll have to wait and see what really happens.
Generally speaking the Repubs have a tough road ahead.
Won't be surprised if they don't accomplish much.
For now, more misery to come for many. Many will lose their jobs
soon. But no problem, plenty of illegals to replace them. 
I'm waiting for someone to complain that there are too many

A step towards responsible legislation.
1) A Jeffersonian motion to vacate the speaker chair if he goes back on his word or policy agenda.
2) Create a Church committee to investigate the weaponization of the FBI and other entities against Americans.
3) Vote on Term Limits
4) Single Subject Bills which wont be bloated with pork and unrelated BS.
5) Texas border plan.
6) A budget that maintains the debt ceiling and holds Senate accountable to stick to it.
7) End emergency funding and all COVID funding and mandates.
8) Require 72 hours to read a bill before a vote.
