That is called paying attention.
Always sit in an advantageous location.
Always have an exit plan if the shit hits the fan.

Some habits are hard to break, but that is a good habit.

Maybe your inner self knows something we all don't ???
I trust your wisdom lamar
We should always be a bit vigilant in new elements.
Ohh yeah really, what kinda butt_head, especially a grumpy one pays attention lol

Here in Texas I’m not worried about crime because half
The people are already carrying. I just make sure there
Is a table near by to crawl under when the shit hits the fan.
I guess you could call that paranoia. I also think the guy
Who is dumb enough to pull out a weapon to commit a
Crime must be even more paranoid.

Situational awareness...
People who don't do it are more likely to perish in a life threatening event of any kind!

What Butthead says.
I got in the habit of NEVER having my back to the door from when I used to live in DC.
Here in CA, i've been legally armed since the Peruta decision.
And PJ makes a good point - while you have shootings in Texas, the bad guy has a higher risk of getting their ass shot like in the Sutherland Springs Church shooting.
Gun free zones = target rich environments.

Strike hard. Strike fast. No mercy.

I usually don't keep my back towards a crown. Never know what could happen
So many families have been effected by loss and coming from someone that knows that feeling all too well the only thing I can do is pray. Pray for individuals internal peace and understanding and pray for the world to come together the way we should.
We are human, but we should not be at odds with one another

I went from carrying a 22 to a glock 26. Always feel safe.

Angler the G26 is nice

It's pretty!

I can't remember a time when I wasn't aware of surroundings, exits, facing the door in Restaurants,...
My Walther fits nice in my pocket as well, I've had it forever

My thought is the more people carrying the safer I feel. What are the odds of someone trying to rob a bank if the 20 customers in line could potentially be armed ? I don't own a gun never have but I am all for carry and conceal . Let more people try to graduate from the F*ck around and find out university, no college debt to worry about then

Always carry the S&W M&P Shield 9mm. Only a 7 round mag, and I carry 1 backup.
When traveling to bad neighborhoods or places of higher risk, H&K USP .40 with 13 + 1 in the pipe, plus 2 backup mags.
IWB holster for both, covered up by a Tommy Bahama shirt or a slightly too big sweatshirt on cool days.

always aware of my surroundings even in the parking lot at Costco or if im going to an incall location because there are some places I cant carry my SigSauer

OP is not paranoid. This is a very good trait to have. It just might get you out of trouble ahead of times some day.
I too will eyeball everyone in my surroundings. I pay particular attention to their faces, hands, and body posture. It only takes a glance if you know what you're looking for. I can confidently say that I can tell who can take care of himself in an enclosed environment with my observation.
Never sit near the windows with your back against the window or door. Always sit with a direct eye sight to the front and the windows. Especially if you are at a retail store, clinic, restaurant with parking right in front of the store. You never know if a car malfunction and ram straight in or someone intentionally want to do harm.
If you frequently have to travel through ghetto or bad neighborhoods, keep an unloaded gun in your armrest and clips separately from the unloaded gun. Make sure you practice at home to quickly load them properly if shit goes down. At least you got a fighting chance.
Once upon a time while living in another state, I had to roll my window down and pull one up next to my chest when a road rage guy stepped out in front of me acting all thuggish. He saw my gun (not knowing its unloaded but the clip is on my left) and turned around and walked quickly back in and drove off. That bitch ass didn't even say a word when he saw what I was holding. I looked dead right into his eyes and he just turned around and walked away. He would've ate lead if he was to walk any closer. That's why you need to pay close attention to your surroundings. You never know who's who and what they are capable of doing.
People are against 2nd amendment until shit happens.

As a female I have been hyper aware of my surroundings since about 13/14
