RIP Sam Rubin 🙏 🙏 🙏
Sam was a fixture in the entertainment business, and everyone from co-workers, Producers, Actors & Actresses all loved him deeply. Sam was the guy that could always make an interview seem like two good friends just holding casual conversation, and everyone went to Sam to get their ideas out to the public and to the media influencers... Everyone loved Sam and Sam loved everyone too... Sam was a great MAN on camera and off camera, what you see on TV was the same man off of the TV screen. Sam was a funny man and used to walk in with the Netflix crowd (Netflix & KTLA share the same property) and eat lunch at the Netflix Cafe almost daily.
Sam Rubin was born in 1960 in San Diego and was raised in West LA, attended University High and Occidental College, and was enamored with the Hollywood scene and dove in and became an Icon, and will forever be remembered as one of the nicest, caring, thoughtful and genuine Men ever to grace the Hollywood scene...

I had one brief interaction with Sam Rubin a few years ago, and at that time he went out of his way to help me when he had no idea who I was. It was a little thing but sometimes those are the most telling.
I also appreciate that he was the only entertainment reporter who I've never heard ask a dumb question. He knew his stuff and was always prepared.
Sam, you will be missed.
RIP

I was shocked as well.
I watch KTLA every morning while stretching and paid more attention when I heard the entertainment jingle come on... and there was Sam.
For the money, I would have be that Mark Kriski would have gone first.

Sam and Eric rode the MS150 for years, 2 day bike ride from Irvine to San Diego. I rode also for many years and used to give Sam shit for having low end bike, mine was always nicer. The last year I rode he finally stepped his bike game. Gave him shit for that, saying I know you make more money than me and it’s about time. He always was a good sport and just laughed with my comments.
That year I was not in my usual cycling shape. I started the same time Sam and Eric the second day from Carlsbad to Mission Bay. Sam finished a head of me. Since then when I find myself out of cycling shape I tell myself “Fucking Sam Rubin”. Always inspires me to ride harder. He will be missed.

@check57, I'm not trying to be that guy, but I fondly remember one time ol' Sam wasn't always prepared. But in spite of that hilarious slip-up, Rubin was a gentleman & a scholar.

Sam Rubin was a great man and will have a standing room only - way over capacity crowd at his funeral. Rest in Peace Sam Rubin - 1978 grad of Uni High in West LA - They were the Warriors but changed their name to the Wildcats 🙏
