By salvage lot, do you mean a parking space?
|
|
lol I guess ? Like junk cars, the front is fuckeddddd , I guess I could just bring it back to my parking space ? Lol
|
|
Are you ok?
|
|
So are you keeping it to fix it? Or just a place to storage? Are you planning on fixing it when available?
|
|
I’m ok but my car isn’t , it’s totaled ): scariest experience & definitely retiring from driving
|
|
Thank goodness for ubar
Drive safe !
Or ubar safe

How are you making payments on it without full coverage? Any lender is going to require their investment that you’re driving be fully insured. Unless the lender is daddy and he doesn’t know about it.

Same question as above.

Yea Tow Yards charge high prices, never want it sitting there.
And collision center/ repair may not want the car that long sitting.
If you cant find anyone with private property that doesn't conflict with city ordinance?
City's especially in residential zones, tend to not like crashed inoperable vehicles in driveway or vehicles on non-pavement, which can become a daily fine.
Just look up laws per area and applications if you find a driveway in residential.
On street free parking is typically 3days free, till need to move vehicle from that block, Sundays typically aren't counted towards those 3 day.
But again look up the laws and read the sign where ever you park, because they may have street sweeping at like 2am on a Thursday.
Also typical city/ state law for parking Wheels cant be more than, like 16 inches from the curb, parking on a hill you must turn your wheels to prevent roll away.
Storage Unit Companies, offer "vehicle storage" or "auto storage" for under $150 a month. typically found under "Storage type". Where ever your car is and near a planned collision center/ repair, see if a Storage Unit is close by for a reduce tow fee.
Paid Parking Lots, you'll find them in more downtown areas. If the Parking lot company doesn't have a policy against crashed cars you can pay a monthly fee with the Paid Parking Lot.
If you do Paid Parking Lots:
-Make sure nothing is enticing that can be stolen out of your car. Glass can be broken.
-Make sure to check where you step around your car, long sitting overnight cars are great privacy to use the area around as a restroom

What kind of car is it?
|
|
If you car is repairable then take it to a mechanic instead of a collision shop.
I turned into a pole in a parking lot I couldn't see a couple weeks ago and messed up my frame and partial suspension. Received quotes for 10k and above from multiple collision shops. The repair shop I used fixed everything for 3200 including replacing the quarter panel that was crunched up and it only took a couple days.
I know there's questions on how could she still be making payments without full coverage, but there was a time I couldn't afford full coverage and when I changed it to liability only the company asked did I pay my car off and I said yes. They never requested proof and My finance company never received a notice in change of insurance. As ive matured I understand the importance of full coverage and Gap.
Wishing you all the best!

Bet this car is in impound lot not a tow lot. Tow companies typically have deals with certain repair shops they take care to.
As for making payments. Assuming you’re on a legit financing program and not some whack D paper financed, your payments are monthly. So if you are still paying then exactly how long has this car been sitting? 1,2,3 months.
Sounds like a DUI to me.
|
|
dang, glad to hear youre ok,
tow yards / impounds are sketchy, mafia like.
|
|
If it's totaled why are you hauling it around?
Call a junkyard that specialized in the brand of car you ahve and tell them you have a wrecked (insert year make and model) and would like to sell it. They will come to you with a tow truck, pay you, and take it away.
|
|
Ask the tow yard if you can sign the car title over to them and move on.
|
|
Wow there is a lot to answer. Maybe it is an impound lot lol it’s road one in SD I think that’s a tow yard idk exactly. And I was with farmers insurance, but they stopped and I switched to Bristol. I thought I would have full coverage just because they switch over companies. I didn’t know that it changed my liability. I was confused too. & no it’s not a DUI I’ve been sober almost 3 years now . I looked down to grab something ): it happened soo quick the car is totaled , no one involved in the accident so that’s good

If it is totaled, or possibly nearly totaled and you do not have coverage for it to be fixed, additionally you still have a loan on it. Your options are pretty limited.
1. If you owe less on the loan than what it is worth (as is) to a salvage yard. Pay off the loan, get the title and sell it to salvage yard.
2. If you owe more on the loan than what it is worth (as is), but possibly only a few thousand dollars. Pay off the loan, get the title and sell it to a salvage yard.
3. If you owe a lot of money on the loan then get it towed to the bank parking lot and drop it off (just kidding but not really). Call the bank, explain to them what is going on, they will either work with you or not, possibly even roll the remaining balance into a new loan if your credit is sound. If they won't work with you then ask them where they would like the car dropped off and have it towed there and abandon the loan and take the hit to your credit (Try to get a new car with your good credit first).
I wouldn't wish this on anyone and hopefully you are okay and everything works out.

thank you 💕

Scotty makes sense.
Any lender has visibility to the insurance coverage.
If you let it lapse, they should automatically add it, and charge you.

Glad you’re alive.

Driving lesson #1.
Never, ever take your eyes off the road in front of you.
Pull over & take care of things if you have to.
Shit happens but this was your fault.
Glad you're physically ok.
Financially & legally?
You're totally fucked I'm afraid.
White Knights? WYA?
