Say Hey! RIP #24.
|
|
I loved watching Willie play but the greatest?
Not sure about that considering Ted Williams, Stan Musial, The Babe etc.
A lot of great players hard to say which of them was the greatest.
RIP Willie. Thanks for 'The Throw' - I was more impressed how he got the ball back in so fast than 'The Catch'.

Scared me. Thought something happened to Ohtani.

Walton, then West and now Willie
These were all legends and their passing is heartbreaking.
I know it's impossible to quantify but IMHO, Mays was the best to ever play the game. Some were better hitters and some were better defensively, but no one was the 5 tool player he was.

First of all I hate the Giants I'm a Dodger person Willie and McCovey were fantastic Willie Mays could steal bases play defense hit the long ball hit when needed.
Ohtani is a great player we shall see when he gets to be in his forties what his stats were like
Right now he only has promise he hasn't shown the world he is the greatest.
Longevity will be what proves that
Mays
1,909 runs batted in
660 home runs
3,293 hits
339 stolen bases
.301 batting average
There was no better center fielder defensively.

Exactly,Ohtani has been in the league 6 years.Let's see where he is in 10,15 or 20 years if he lasts. He has great numbers but it's all about durability.
Willie had great numbers and was an everyday player.24 All Star selections,660 bombs.I could go on and on.
