Kidding, just kidding ok?
See a professional.

Move, change profession. Get away from anything familiar.
|

You have to want to change. Stop hanging around the people and places that cause you to get into those bad habits.
|
|
Hmmm, What you are trying to do is rewire a pattern of behavior. I would start by identifying the habit/s you consider bad. Then begin to become aware of the habit itself. When you are engaging in it. Find habits to replace the bad one/s
One caveat...This is extremely hard work. Diligence and patience, are your allies.

+1 bwana
Plus the answers lay with L Ron Hubbard, as the reactive mind is always getting in the way of your freedoms to live a Happy life.

Great topic and conversation¢ï¿½¦. Check-out the book atomic habits.
Usually you need to replace the bad habit with a more positive routine/ habit.
Breaking bad habits is hard , really hard .
Good luck .

Write down all the bad habits in a list. Next to each one, write the opposite of that habit. Focus on the opposite. Keep the list and look at it for 5 minutes at the start of your day.
You will find that over time, you might compromise and meet yourself in the middle, but the goal is still the opposite.
Good luck.

Small consistent progress. As long as you are moving in the direction you want , that is a gain. If you fall back, start again and be consistent. Don't try a 360 over night most likely will revert to the old habit.

Genuine self reflection. Honesty with yourself. Look inward - ask yourself honestly and answer honestly.
Take it step by step. Remember: were human and are all fallible. But we can learn and grow.

practice mindfulness
and talk to yourself about the bad habits, the possible consequences, why the habits are hurting both your mind and body and how it should be and how to get there.

These are amazing responses I find myself revisiting and rereading. Thank you all for your input 🥰

Time. Giving yourself time to carefully think about and consider something really helps me settle into it, especially when it's a big, "intimidating" change/action. After a few days, I'm much more comfortable going through with it.
I'm sure I have more advice to give, so I'll be back if I can remember.

There are a lot of self help books or YouTube clips out there. Try a few and see which one works best for you.
L Ron Hubbard, the infamous Dianetics? Watch Goin Clear: Scientology & the Prison of Belief on Netflix. Sounds like he's a whack job.

^^ total whack
however the reactive mind is not just his observation, it is widely referenced in mindful therapy / meditation.
the reactive mind is the voice in your mind always reminding you of stuff you need to do or the consequences thereof.
