That’s shady! Texting him to book a date then asks for deposit after he agrees then doesn’t show up! Due diligence is done before booking someone not after. Gives an excuse of “he has bad reviews”. I don’t see any on his network only the girl that rated him bad is who OP is complaining about. He issued bad reviews like others posted don’t see how that’s bad. Girl should return his money if not this is definitely a rob report on her!

That said, if you take a deposit first, and THEN do your screening and realize the guy is a piece of shit shady motherfucker that you don't want to meet, you need to return the full deposit. It is not his fault that you did your screening AFTER accepting the deposit and driving an hour, even if he is a shady piece of shit. Allegedly.
Return his deposit in full and change up the order you do things in the future.
This all pre-supposes that there was no prior interaction with one of his other profiles that you screened and declined to see. If he previously tried to book with another account and you declined to see him, and then he made contact with the Emerson1999 account, I say keep the deposit to teach him a lesson.
Emerson, can you please let us know what your other accounts are? Asking for some friends.

This is not that hard. A deposit is not a fucking gift. It is an act made by the guy to put "skin in the game" so the lady is not out anything if the guy has to cancel. In this case, he didn't cancel. She did. And she kept the money. That is not how deposits work at all.
If a lady waits to actually do the screening until the last minute, after getting the deposit and driving an hour, that is her fuck up. She has every right to cancel if she doesn't feel comfortable, but she has wasted his time and should expect a ding in Karma for waiting until the last second. She also MUST return the deposit, or she is a ROB.
Screening should be the very first step of this process. Shit, if it were me, I would do it before even sending the guy a PM with your details. In this case, she waited until the last moment when she was about to walk in the door it seems.
I'm happy she was able to stay safe, but keeping the deposit is absolutely wrong if the only reason for it is because she finally got around to doing her homework. If there is more to this encounter and he tried to trick her or something, that is another story, but that's not what she is saying at all.
tl;dr - Just because this guy is a piece of shit shady motherfucker... allegedly... doesn't mean you get to rob him with impunity. Pay the dude back, consider yourself lucky you didn't end up in a room with him, and go your separate ways.

He’s even tried to see me and I wouldn’t because I know how to screen correctly but because she did not screen click correctly and jump to it because he pushes girls to hurry up and get to him quickly, she didn’t check in this case. I would honestly say that is more his fault than hers and that she can keep the deposit and doesn’t owe him anything maybe this time because this has happened before with him

There are guys that will text quickly so when you respond, they text back and ask for the deposit information once they have that information, they will try and get you to see them quickly so that way you won’t have time to run a screen on them and of course, because you want the high donation they’re offering and them to send the deposit you don’t check because you don’t have time to and then when you start getting that feeling because you didn’t check or scream them is right before you arrive it happens all the time she didn’t intend to do any of. It is what I feel from the situation, but I am not defending her in anyway, because just like she mentioned , the app and jumped to revealing certain information and wanting to post the reviews on here is a TOS violation first off and second just goes to show that she’s a little too jumpy and doesn’t have patience. She is young and she will learn eventually cut her break.
Also, Emerson, I believe you should remove your rating both of you should because you keep making new profiles because girls keep Tarnishing your network by rating you accordingly, and it is not fair that you are targeting and harassing new girls and even the girls that have seen you shouldn’t retake you every time you make a new profile They should see you again because people do change
