How is it that Jimmy Carr, Jon Richardson, Kathryn Ryan, Sean Locke (some being please rest his soul) say fuck, shit, cock, and a whole rasher of other words that US TV would crap a tree stump over on BBC channels. BBC (who i think broadcasts Jimmy Carr, et al.) puts this all on air? I only watch these shows on youtube, so could be wrong from the start. but i hear a lot of words i think US TV should allow.
Free speech my arse.

Doja Cat has a song call "Agora Hills" where she sings,
"Boys be mad that I don't fuck incels."
WTF? As a low-vibrational incel I am highly offended.
Here is a link to a YouTube short video showing a woman putting on makeup and singing Sabrina Carpenter's song "Please, Please, Please", but her five-year-old son knows the real lyrics.

Chappell Roan has a hit song called "Red Wine Supernova."
The title is a reference to Oasis' 1995 hit "Champagne Supernova."
Chappell Roan's song is about lesbian lust.
It is funny to see what the censors cut out.
The BBC obviously cut out this lyric:
"You just told me, want me to fuck you
Baby, I will 'cause I really want to"
The BBC also cut out this line:
"I don't care that you're a stoner."
It is funny that the BBC has no problem with these lines:
"I heard you like magic
I've got a wand and a rabbit
So baby, let's get freaky, get kinky
Let's make this bed get squeaky"
I guess that the BBC thinks that the kids won't be the wiser.
So any chick with a wand and a rabbit is a magician?
Who knew that HX had so many magicians?

I think the general understanding of what can be said across the airwaves (TV, radio, etc.) seems to evolve around that content which you "pay" to see/hear vs. the public airwaves, like non-cable TV/Radio, that are available to anyone without paying.
But you are right, sometimes it just doesn't make any sense.
[tongue in cheek] In an era of book banning in schools is it any surprise that free speech wouldn't be next on the censor chopping block? I mean after all, if citizens can't control their own emotions and thoughts then isn't it the charter and duty of government to protect them from themselves?

Take a listen to Lady Gaga Poker Face, she's not saying puh-puh-puh poker face...just sayin.
She interviewed one time and said not many DJs actually properly censor it.
Once you hear it you can't unhear it. Fuh-Fuh-Fuh-
