Who won the debate? Depends on what you were looking to get out of it. If you are an Independent like me you were looking for explanations as to why she has done a complete 180 on all her major policy positions. On that she failed. And I blame the moderators for that. They let her get away with dodging the question. If you are a Democrat who wanted to see Harris rehash a litany of Trumps greatest hits, you are a winner. Unfortunately she had nothing new. Everything she hit Trump with is already baked into the cake. So just a lot of red meat for her base. If you are a republican you were hoping Trump would be able to define Harris as a radicle far left San Francisco liberal. Not sure he completely accomplished that. So no win for him there. The real winner last night? Neither. I didn't hear one thing that would move an undecided voter in either direction.

The reality is, nobody who supports either candidate was swayed by what was said during the debate. The big question is how will the undecided view the exchange between Trump and Harris? Will Trump turn people off as unhinged and focused on bizarre non-issues like dog-eating immigrants? Will Harris not get support for seeming light on policy specifics for the economy and immigration? A relatively small percentage of the electorate will determine the outcome on November 5.

VP's aren't really responsible for anything except to be ready to fill-in if called upon. In 3.5 years all she can say is she got to sit in on some very important policy decisions and got to see how it is done.

And we are STILL seeing some of the effects of COVID! Companies were quick to raise prices to account for increased shipping costs, and in some cases price gouging because of scarcity, but are slow to drop prices back to pre-problem levels when the problem goes away. Once the public gets accustomed to the higher pricing then there is no incentive for the companies to adjust. By that I mean that the public tends to blame the politicians and not the companies themselves.
A lot of lies and misrepresentations were made last night by both of them (they are politicians, what did you expect?), but I think DJT won the "game of lies" hands down! No surprise there.
Don't over-think it! The thing that really stands out is that one candidate wants to continue to live in the past instead of the future. We need solutions - not excuses!

If you want to know who won the debate you should take a look at how Trump Media & Technology (DJT) stock is doing today. Or look at how the betting odds on the election have progressed. People might give lip service to ideology but few will risk their money on a losing position.
It’s funny that Trump and his supporters whine that he was bullied by the moderators even though he was given more time to speak than Harris was.
Do you agree that Trump’s whole life prepared him for that debate?
Do you think Trump was afraid to shake Harris’ hand or look her in the eye?
Do you support Trump because you like the healthcare plan he has been working on for so many years? Or is it because he built that wall?
If you believe that immigrants are eating pet cats and dogs, that Trump intended for states to control abortion because everybody wanted that, that vice presidents can control policy, that Harris wore an earpiece or that we need a president who can be pushed around by a couple of debate moderators, don’t bother looking at DJT stock.
I don’t think fact checking is taking Trump’s word on all the things he has said or all the stances he has flip-flopped on but I’m no expert. You can believe him when he says to forget what he said before and believe what he’s saying now if you want to.
Remember, every president gets tested by a crisis. Trump’s was Covid. Do you think he handled it well?
