Send them a PM asking why they rated him red. Maybe then ask him for his side of the story(ies) too. Direct communication is one of the best features of Hx.

Well, the network system is in place for a reason.
Personally, I would reach out to the network. I assume you did a blog search as well?
Check other screening sites too..

They haven't been approved, until they're Louproved!

The dates of the ratings have meaning too. If someone got some red early in their tenure here and it was more than a couple of years ago then those ratings have to be viewed differently than someone who got some red last week. Why?
1) People change. The most noticeable reason (IMHO) is a move towards a substance abuse problem. Total personality changes are not only possible, they are likely and typical.
2) Newbies stumble sometimes getting their footing here and violate an unwritten rule or two, or just piss someone off. Probably the most frequent one is a No Call - No Show because they don't understand how this community looks down on that. Another one is asking for bare of someone who is vehemently opposed to it.
3) Some people on this site view any slight or insult as a valid reason for giving out a negative (red) safety rating. The only way to ferret that out is to investigate.
To me, red just means that further screening or investigation is required. Sometimes I overlook it, sometimes I don't.
But you are right, sometimes girls are just being mean!

If the person who issued the red is a -1 or less, I pay no attention to those.

In addition to the comments above about reaching out via PM to the people who rated someone as dangerous (or issued reds in other categories), you should also click on the Blogs About button on their profile page.
It is also a good idea to check Blogs About on people who want to reconnect that you haven't seen in over a year, particularly because of what Marrisa posted in number 1 of her comment above.
