Not sure what you were watching, but I clearly saw Newsome as a lying piece of shit.
He said more people are leaving Florida and coming to CA than vice versa. Total lie disputed by the hard facts and there was even an article in the OC Register today that stated 50,701 left CA for FL and 28,000 from FL to CA in 2022, net loss of 22,000. And that doesn't include all of the other states, as CA had a net loss of 342,000 in 2022. Oops, Gavin....your nose just grew longer.
Newsome said FL taxes the poor and middle class and gives breaks to the wealthy.

Talk about deflection. Hannity asked FOUR SEPARATE TIMES if Newsom thought that thousands of Afghans, Iranians, Syrians, Russians, and Chinese apprehended crossing our border, and the countless others that got through, posed a threat to the national security of the United States.
Each time, Newsom deflected with, "Joe Biden has put up a plan of comprehensive immigration reform to Capitol Hill and the Republicans in Congress have chosen to ignore it."
And because Hannity cannot pin him down, and does not know how to ask a follow up question to corner a slippery snake like Newsom into a position, Newsom got away with it.
The follow up to the Biden plan should have been, "Under Donald Trump and his administration's policies, we saw the lowest numbers of illegal immigration on our southern border in over 30 years. Yet the day Joe Biden came into office, all of those policies were repealed. How do you justify doing that BEFORE getting the new "comprehensive immigration reform bill" passed and into effect? Now we have 10 million new illegals in our country, certainly terror cells have entered, and fentanyl carried across the porous border has killed thousands. How do you defend that, Sir?"

I like the idea of fact checkers on the stage during the debate and calling candidates out for lies. Even going as far as turning off their microphone until they admit the error and answer the question. Especially when the moderator puts up charts and graphics done by outside sources and verified by a third party, as they had last night.

The California governor could not explain why 750,000 people left his state in the past two years, while 454,000 people moved into Florida, why violent crime is almost twice as high in California as it is in Florida, why taxes are so much loftier, or why homelessness is over three times greater than in Florida. (He actually tried to suggest that the homeless issue had begun under Ronald Reagan’s governorship.)
