The 4 attorneys I have seen on Newsnation and CNN predict the Supreme Court will strike down the Colorada and all of them stated they would not be surprised if it is a 9 - 0 decision. If they don't there are a number of red states looking at removing Biden from their state ballots.

After reading the Maine ruling it is pretty obvious that they are trying to force the USSC to take it up and make a final decision on it soon. One of the main points made in that ruling is essentially a "states rights" issue, which is hard to argue with. I think the Maine ruling is going to encourage a few other states to follow suite real soon.

Trump participated in an insurrection. He attempted to overturn the legitimate results of an election to retain power. He is disqualified to hold office because he acted against the Constitution. That is how she is helping preserve democracy.
But I don’t think it will be successful because the conservative majority of the SCOTUS will figure out a way to help Trump out. The DC Circuit Court of Appeals will rule against Trump’s immunity claim and I think that SCOTUS will refuse to hear the case, thereby affirming the decision, allowing for the January 6 case to proceed before the election.
That is a fair outcome because Trump will be convicted (and he knows it) and he will lose the election assuming he’s allowed to proceed as the Republican candidate.

I can read. He has not been charged with insurrection, nor has anyone else associated with June 6. And certainly no one has been convicted. In this country I thought we had a belief that you are innocent until PROVEN guilty. Guess people on the left have decided to abandon that belief. So until someone is actually convicted of insurrection, how can you call what occurred an insurrection in the context of Section 3 of the Constitution. The Civil War was the insurrection that was addressed in Section 3 and what happened on Jan 6 certainly doesn't fit that definition.

My point was not necessarily in favor of the ruling as much as a feeling that the entire action was structured solely to force the USSC's hand. Structuring it as a states rights issue is the most forceful way they could do it. The SoS left plenty of wiggle room in that ruling and seems to even suggest that the ruling may be overturned, but at least the issue will be resolved once and for all (hopefully).
It is important to realize that the SoS did not unilaterally give birth to this action, it was in response to a civil proceeding initiated by a couple of citizens.
Also keep in mind that keeping DJT off of the ballot is a civil proceeding, not a criminal one. The rules for a finding of guilt or innocence are very different. In a criminal case it requires a finding of guilt "beyond a reasonable doubt." In a civil case, like this one, it only requires a "preponderance of the evidence." There "seems" to be plenty of evidence (albeit it mostly circumstantial - at this point) that DJT knew exactly what he was doing.
Another thing that caught my eye was that DJT's attorneys screwed up again in failing to timely file exhibits in the Maine action. His years of stiffing attorneys on their fees is coming back to haunt him in that he is now saddled with 2nd and 3rd string attorneys. The most competent ones (and the most expensive) won't touch him. You reap what you sow - that's why he seems to be constantly coming up empty these days.
This whole thing is developing into a great lesson in civics.

Most for trespassing, disorderly conduct, interfering with law enforcement officers, a few assaults....again NO ONE charged or convicted of insurrection.

BLM rioters can be convicted of arson, assault, robbery, etc. Do they need to also be convicted of disturbing the peace, rioting, or whatever the underlying act they were doing before they committed other crimes? No.
What occurred on January 6, 2021 was by definition an insurrection. They were insurrectionists. Trump knew exactly what he was doing. He knew many in the crowd had weapons. He was warned of it. And he said I don’t effing care that they have weapons,” He said he knew they weren’t there to hurt him. So why did they have weapons at a rally?

Answer: It takes time to build an airtight case against a former president, and it takes careful preparation. They need to make sure that he is in fact guilty of crimes prior to filing claims against him.
