You can blame that fucking idiot Newsom… $20 an hour minimum wage for fast food fucking workers give me a goddamn break! He’s a fucking idiot just like all the goddamn liberal democratic vote for this bullshit…
|

Who admits to voting for the performative shit-stain called Newsome?
The good news is the union just destroyed a bunch of restaurant jobs, as owners close or transition to more tech and less bodies.
Meanwhile, Progs will trumpet they did the right thing for the little guy.....as he/she/it/they/them get fired or laid off.
Progs are some of the dumbest people on this, or any other, planet. Ideology trumps reality every time.
|

Meanwhile, In N Out has been doing well all these years maintaining their prices low. It’s all stems to corporate greed for these high prices all while brainwashing the common folks to blame higher wages.
|

$20 an hour for fucking fast food workers that can't get anything right.
Go to the drive thru and:
ME: "Can I please get a Large Pepsi?"
MS. $20.00: "You wannen wonna large Diet Pexxi? Any ting else for you?"
ME: No, I wanted...
MS. $20.00: "Ok, three dollars twenty nine at first window."
ME: "FUCK!"
So now a 2 cheeseburger meal at McDonald's is about 11 bucks...soon how much will it be? I am guessing $14.00. What a fucking rip. Keep voting Democrat, assholes!
|
|
"It’s all stems to corporate greed for these high prices all while brainwashing the common folks to blame higher wages."

Bad Management, Corporate Greed, and Gas and Energy Companies still price gouging as they historically have done during economic uncertainty.
Thanks Republican Congress and Do Nothing Don.

"Bad Management, Corporate Greed, and Gas and Energy Companies still price gouging as they historically have done during economic uncertainty."
But yet you want your stock prices to increase.
Algebra 101... the equation have to balance.

lol it’s hilarious conservative talking points.
McDonald’s makes insane billions in yearly profits but god forbid they pay a fair wage.
McDonald’s pays poor wages and lets the government do the rest with welfare. Taxpayers are subsidizing McDonalds. Stop corporate welfare.
|
|
Like anyone gives a shit..Pizza Hut is just outsourcing its delivery service to DoorDash/Grubhub and others.
Reminder that pizza drives have a more dangerous job than cops.
Back the brave pizza warriors.

“ Algebra 101... the equation have to balance. “
Economics 102, Capitalism is not brought on with Balance, and socialism is not present until corporate welfare ceases.

I don’t see what the problem is McDonald’s is an extremely profitable company and should be able to play their employees a livable wage. McDonald’s barely paid any taxes and their employees have to be on government assistance so the taxpayers have to get it take it up the ass twice… I don’t care what company it is ..if a large billion dollar company has billion dollar profits and any of their employees are in government assistance that company needs to pay all of their taxes and then some there should be no reason absolutely no reason that an employee should be on government assistance working full-time… the company should have to pay the government back for the assistance that they have to give their full-time employees for not paying them a livable wage. I don’t care what side that you’re on.
|
|
I for one am glad to see the wage increase.
$20.00 burgers means closure of burger stands.
Closing of stands means fewer obese motherfuckers wadling back n forth.
FAT FUCKERS UNITE !
|
|
Using the McDonalds App deal I had to pay a whole 1 dollar for a large coffee! I like their coffee but too expensive! Damn Democrats! ☹️

Jess
The vast majority of the McDonalds are owned by franchisees, not the corporation. So, it's the franchise owners in California that will be affected, as well as employees themselves since the franchises will reduce staff and expect the remaining group to produce better. McDonalds is already testing fully automated locations - could be the future in California. While I am not predicting a mass shuttering of McDonald's, some fast-food franchises will go under - ever notice how many Subways have closed in the last few years? Part of that was bad corporate decisions for sure - but who pays the highest price when franchises close - hint it's not the corporation.
Any corporations first responsibility is to shareholders - a rather basic tenet.
While close to two billion in taxes may seem like "barely any" it isn't chump change.
A primary factor people forget when they call for an increase in corporate taxes, is that it does not truly affect the corporation. The corporation only passes those taxes along to shareholders in reduced dividends or to the consumer in one manner or another.
McDonald's lowest level positions were never intended as "careers."

|
Man if the Lucky Geek closes by me, where in the Hell am I going the find there Thousand Island dressing ? Not funny.
|
|
mcdonalds is a franchise business
so the corp mcdonald is not really affected, just the california owned franchises
have never gone to mcdonalds much, sometimes in the past for their breakfast mcmuffin
so many better options nowadays - seems like high end burger joints are popping up daily
|
|
McDonald's runs on a heavily franchised business model, thus nearly 93% of its restaurants were franchised restaurants and the rest are company-operated restaurants.
|
|
McDonalds Corp is Not affected? They’re directly affected due to most of their revenue coming from franchises.
People will choose with their feet, all these high end places popping up have no issue paying 25 at Chipotle, I am sure they will be okay with 15 at McD.
All this Stop minimum wage, lower Social Security, take away healthcare is all Republican talking points. I didnt see you complaining about the corp tax write off the Kardashians get for buying two Gulfstream Jets, thanks to Cant build a wall Trump.

Re: McDonalds Franchise Model
I really dont see how this changes the argument. If you are an entrepreneur and chose to adopt this unsustainable business model and help make McDonald's billions then I have not sympathy. No better than McDonalds corporate suits.
Re: "McDonalds jobs are not meant to be careers"
LOL McDonalds is not some internship program for Americans. McDonalds is a very profitable enterprise. Pay their workers a fair wage.
|
|
If you do not understand the difference between the effect on corporate and franchisee, well it would be difficult to help you.
When you quote someone, which you did since you put it in quotes, you might want to leave it as it was originally stated.
The "quote" you provided and got a chuckle out of, is far different than the actual statement.

Omg I love lucky Greek!!!
And anal lol
Makes me miss being in corona all over again
|
|
fact is that being a mcdonalds employee requires very little skill.
those types of jobs are typically held by people in a transitional point in life, they are very likely improving their skill level (going to school) so they can achieve more meaningful employment.
or they are just not able to improve their skill level.
none of those models are typically rewarded in the american business model
people who want to give everyone a cost of living salary are really riding very close to our friends in china, aka true socialism.
|
|
$20 an hour is $41,600 if working a full time job.
Most likely a 36 hour schedule which is a little over $37k.
We are not talking about 100k salaries here. McDonalds (and franchise owners!) can afford it.
Raise prices if needed. McDonalds lower the fee and monthly cut if needed.
We cannot expect workers to live on slave wages while corporate profits are at all time highs. It unsustainable. This will destroy capitalism because the labor base that supports it will revolt.
|
|
Rrod.
I don't believe fast food jobs were every intended to be 'full time employment' jobs to be the sole income of someone. Way back when, these jobs were filled by 'students' who worked as part time employees. The price structure of the fast food menu cannot really support $20 per hour unless the franchise owner lays off 20% of their staff and fast food will become not so fast food.
|
|
In N Out and Costco are examples of jobs that were not intended to be full time jobs or careers but they still manage to give a fair share to their employees and are insanely profitable businesses.
So we really talking in circles here.
|
|
Have you seen the lines at In and Out? They have an extremely limited menu, super high volume sales and can actually afford $20 per hour, since their people are processing such high volumes of burgers. They are not cooking chicken, tacos, burritos, etc. Just put a burger on the grill.
You don't see those same lines at Burger King, Taco Bell, etc. and those places have more detailed menu with more time needed to customize the order.
|
|
Costco does not hire unskilled labor.
Rrod - you need to look up business models.
Shareholders aka investors are constantly looking where they can invest to get the best rate of return.
So giving higher salaries just because they can afford it would not be an option, unless there is a business strategy behind it (not just because).
In and out is a private company and no doubt their staff brings more quality to the table than the standard mcD employee.

The problem here is business ethics but lecture us how maximizing profits while screwing the labor force is good for the country.
