Well, Rodney.
It's called the Miagi theory. Wax on......Wax off! If you had watched the movie, you would of seen the level of difficulty it takes to become skilled at the task, which turns into a profession.
mmmmmmkay!

^^^^ LOLS
OK looks like I was wrong on that point Costco is not skilled labor.
but for you to use an example of a corporation paying their employees well, is also not great, their starting salary was $15.93 as of dec 2023 (southern california).

This might help some of you (or perhaps not)

^^^ I am NOT reading all that, please just post a Meme next time.

He did not read it either if it makes you feel any better. Otherwise the impertinence of citing it would have been obvious.

@ GoBallsDeep
We see you’re the pegging type. You basically, rewrote my statement without providing any argument.
I bet you still live in a basement.

In a few years this is what fast food restaurants will look like in Cali

Ay caramba
The shit spewed out in these posts is an eco-disaster lol
First, Rod is a Socialist with a bias and complete ignorance of reality, for him ideology trumps all.
Liberty, didn't explain it cause you're too dumb to understand it.....waste of time. Your post is evidence of a person suffering the paranoid delusion of "powerlessness"........and that's no way to go thru life.
For the others, yes..... MCD is a very profitable REAL ESTATE company that generates its stable net income from franchisees that pay rent. It's the franchisee you're fucking in the ass by mandating higher wages for essentially entry level jobs. In the LONG RUN, you're fucking the employee in the ass when MCD and the franchisees figure out how best to replace Labor with Capital.
Here in Socal, a new concept restaurant is opening with NO employees, food production/service is automated. Might take a bit, but every restaurant owner in CA will be looking to replace employees with machines.
The reason this is happening is SEIU is forcing owners to defend their investment so that SEIU can "unionize" the new professional burger flipper a la the Starbucks barrista. This shit is just a cynical union ploy foisted thru their employees in Sacramento (also called politicians) to increase their dying membership.
And, you idiots fall for it every time. Last time I checked, Mickey D's is not a prison where they bus you in to work in handcuffs and leg-irons.
You don't like the fucking pay, get a job elsewhere for fucks sake......or start a business lol
Why is dumb so prevalent these days?
Must be that union of teachers they got in this state.

In case some of you twats think I'm carrying water for "big" corporations or the "super-rich", you can lay down your torches and pitch forks.
Any good economist abhors "rentseeking" behavior regardless of source (see link below for definition). As are unions, large corporations are some of the most egregious abusers of rentseeking behavior in our economic system. Politicians are mostly too weak-spined and ethically challenged to decline (Lorena Gonzalez being the perfect example of a pol doing union bidding with Prop 5 as a Repersentative, then becoming head of the union immediately after lol).
Realizing that ideologues like Rod would never do the homework on the racist origination of the minimum wage and both its intended and unintended consequences, (not knowing is the perfect defense in any discussion where "reason" is not necessary), enlightenment arrives on the realization that one has free agency regarding employment.
Nobody can legally force you to work for them regardless the pay scale.
Employment is high, job openings are many.....even in CA.
Say adios to Mickey and go elsewhere with your skills.....whatever they may be

the SEIU isn't the problem. its newsom ; his making 20 dollars minimum wage for fast food restaurants.

What if unions are bad for the economy (and firms) in the short term by dampening short term growth but are good for the economy in the long term by promoting a relatively broad middle class (a la Gini coefficient) ie consumer base that makes certain kinds of economic growth that would otherwise be impossible become possible? Would you call that a negative externality?
US economic history would suggest that rapid economic growth and high rates of unionization are not incompatible and we don’t know obviously but it’s at least possible that high union participation was a requirement for the US’s rapid economic growth during the 20th c.
But none of this much matters. We’re all fucked. Robots will soon be coming for all of the mcjobs.
|
|
You got that last part right, McJobs on the way out with the mix of AI and robotics and Stupid Fucking pols like Newsome who think business owners will just sit still and do nothing about it lol
Hence large corps moving out of CA for other states and taking their HIGHLY paid and HIGHLY taxed employees with them............along with ALL the Capital Gains that pay for a large part of CA's budget. AND, you got a shit pot full of retired CA government employees leaving with their pension income to be taxed in another state
500,000 to 700,000 people left the Garden of Eden over the last few years and CA lost a Rep or 2 in Washington because of it. Now, it's NOT just the red state folk but it's the highly paid likely blue state folk that are leaving.
$68B deficit cause Newsome and SEIU are spooning fuck buddies who think they pass new laws and the rest of us will just take it up the ass.
Meanwhile, they blame everybody but themselves for the homeless problem and you guys keep voting for these "enlightened" idiots.........the only thing they en-"lighten" is your wallet.
And, the $100b train to nowhere keeps chugging cause the union guys need the work, forget the fact that nobody will ride the fucking thing. Anybody else recall when Newscum loudly announced that the choo-choo was dead a few years ago.........now loudly proclaiming that he got $3B in OTHER people's tax money to keep his union fuck buddies in clover.
Funny shit

|
Once upon a time in "Murica, there was a place for unions.
Now they're just an anachronism with less than 6% of 'Murican workers in unions and if you take out the public unions........it's less than 3%.
They are a rounding error in this country AND they continue to lose workers every year. When people are given the option to "opt-out", many do. Only the ones who know they're lazy and have no real skills stay in.
SEIU will continue to unionize restaurant workers and that job will continue to disappear as wages are paid that are NOT commensurate with the skill level OR the productivity they bring to the table.
But, sure guys like Rod will tilt at the corporate windmill until those folks are toast, because "it's the right thing to do", when in fact........they just shot themselves in the foot.
|
|
A few articles for those who give a shit
SEIU is Newscum's boss, he is their wholly owned slave/peon.
They say shit, he asks "what color".
Don't forget the "Fast Food Council" that will now determine what you can and cannot do with your restaurant business.....in lieu of Newscum resurrecting a Great Depression Era regulatory panel.
The IWC, which you've never heard of before, Industrial Welfare Council........which could SET ANY wage or working conditions it wanted to for any reason it liked lol
SEIU needs bodies, that's the bottom line...........so that the SEIU bosses can make bank like UAW bosses, then skim off the top and have all the ladies, yachts and real estate that those guys have.

Pillaging of the treasury ... the current state of Woke America
Throw some more patriotic people in jail and mandate some worthless jabs to make a buck

I am very happy Newsom knows what is best for CROC.
He was voted in and will continue to help by doing the correct thing
He allocated 2.6 billion a year for illegal aliens to have medical.
Only showing a 68 billion dollar deficit. + the 2.6 billion
He must have plenty of checks in his checkbook. Question?
Who will be paying that 70.6 billion?
|
|
Simple, apportion the payments based on who voted Progressive
Check voter rolls, then send out the bills
Let them put their money where their votes are
They can go out in the back yard and pick cash from their money tree
Bunch of dumb fucks
|
|
Ok
Let Newsom supporters pay for his spending.
That would be fair.
Ain't gonna happen.
Glad I got out when I did.
