Every college or university professor with a EdD I know used the Dr. prefix. Pretty good indicator you’re FOS.

^ Yes, EdD's have used 'doctor' titles - on campus, for their students. Being just a 3 year degree, as opposed to a 4-6 year PhD degree (where "doctor" is earned) it is viewed, rightfully so, as less than.
If your EdD 'doctors' insist on being called "doctor" by everybody then Jill's arrogance has nothing on them. I studied in a science field (yeah, bfd) not academia.
I just don't subscribe to the dumbing down of everything for wannabe's.

AA 60 units 2 years, BS/BA 120 units 2years. MA is a BS/BA plus 30 graduate level units including testing or a thesis 2 years. EdD is a MA plus 30 graduate level units including testing or a dissertation 2 years.

I don't mind if someone who has successfully complete 8 years of college level education calls themselves a Dr. I think it is justly deserved. If I had gone that route I would have proudly called myself Dr. It is simply an indication of one's resolve. And when I meet a Medical Doctor I expect to see M.D. after their name.
If you see someone for treatment that you think is a Medical Doctor and the only thing after their name is Ph.D - RUN!

The difference between a phd and a edd is 30 units.
EdD is a BA + 60 units
PhD is a BA + 90 units
Both require testing and or thesis and dissertation
Generally 8 years of education for a EdD and 10 for a PhD
None of this pertains to the ops original post that she was hot when young.

Exactly. Being called a Dr. represents a Level of education and mastery in your field, NOT they you have patients.

There are doctorates and then there are doctorates.
The "soft sciences" are known for weak mushy work a la Biden, Ferrer, Claudine Gay (ex Pres of Harvard) etc. regardless of how many "hours" is supposedly required. AND, quite a bit of plagiarism too, because seriously.........who's going to look back to see if you copied some crap from another "soft science" thesis 10 years ago.
The hard sciences make it much harder to do that bullshit....although with DEI garbage running around, it's getting so the real doctor wanna-bes are having to bow down to the hard left bullshit to even get accepted into Med School.
That's just the kind of Doc I want to go to for a life-threatening disease lol
