"As the legend goes, Keith came out of the theater’s basement to wish Nelson a happy birthday. He then saw Kristofferson and quipped, “None of that lefty shit out there tonight, Kris” – a reference to Kristofferson’s left-leaning political views.
“What the f–k did you just say to me?” Kristofferson replied. “You ever worn your country’s uniform?”
“You heard the question, you just don’t like the answer,” Kristofferson continued. “Have you ever served your country? The answer is, no, you have not. Have you ever killed another man? Huh? Have you ever taken another man’s life and then cashed the check your country gave you for doing it? No, you have not. So shut the f–k up!”"
“ But Keith was more politically slippery than his songs signaled. He was for many years a registered Democrat (“a very conservative Democrat,” he told Playboy in 2005), and though he sang movingly about the sacrifices of the military, he himself, unlike his father, had never served”
At the very least get your sh*t right. The link below covers more accurately his political beliefs along with the interaction with Kris Kristofferson.
Donald Trump was a registered Democrat too...try making it in NYC being a Republican in the public record!
Toby Keith? Try making it in the entertainment industry as a registered Republican. You'll be playing bat-mitzvahs and coffee houses until the cows come home...which for Toby unfortunately was yesterday.
Toby Keith was a big, loud-mouth, larger than life Oklahoma boy who spoke his mind, loved his country and made some good music. If you want to get political or say he was controversial, that's on you for speaking ill of the dead. I'm filling a solo red cup tonight
Lol at belly boarder and Rod going at it like two trannies having a cat fight
I will admit to having heard this guys name once but try to keep my distance from country music
Just a personal preference, you folks enjoy the music
RIP Toby whatever
This border bill was backed by Border Patrol Union, and Rs had to kill it by betraying what the citizens of this country wanted them to do. That is why more and more we are losing our trust, and become more and more cynical, due to the purely political play by Rs dead-end politics.
Let's hear from two senators worked on the bill, Lankford (nickname "immigration hawk") and Sinema (she is more of an independent than a Democrat)
Lankford said he was threatened by a "popular commentator" who told him, "If you try to move a bill that solves the border crisis during this presidential year, I will do whatever I can to destroy you."
Sinema: "Suddenly in the last 48 hours, the border no longer matters"
You are not even in the same Universe as the subject line
People give you a lot of leeway as the "crazy guy" but...............
Please just STFU now and then
