Yeah, I was stationed at China Lake for about a year.
Earthquake city is Ridgecrest's motto
Was so glad to get out of there and onward to Miramar !

On 14 it goes : Mojave, then cross over the 58 into California City, then Jawbone, the Red Rock Canyon, then Inyokern and cut over off of 14 and onto 178 into Ridgecrest and China Lake NWS.
I have no reason to ever go back, as it is truly the middle of nowhere along 14, 58, 395 & 178 areas.
