Thomas has absolutely no ethics whatsoever to recuse himself on this case either, and we all know his wife Virginia have been a big supporter of Trump and MAGA movement. If he did, this shitty Supreme Court decision to take this case could have been avoided in the first place.

This decision means that those four Supreme Court judges effectively gave Trump a free pass to be immune to all the pending trials without handing out their final decision on the case.
Once Trump is re-elected as President, he can evaporate all the federal indictment against him, or in case he is convicted in any of the case, and even if the Supreme Court reaches a decision that any President has no immunity, Trump can still pardon himself, and he will be our president the rest of his life.
How can we trust this shitty Supreme Court. This court has no regards to any precedents in the past, and we can fairly say that those far-right extremist judges are truly MAGA in the sense that they want new revolution in this nation.

There is no excuse to delay the J6 case from happening before the election. The forced delay of the criminal immunity decision is obvious.

Those four MAGA judges didn't have to this case, DC Circuit courts already rejected his claim in its entirety. His claim that any president is immune to any criminal case during and after his presidency, even if he committed murder of his political enemy.
We have to ask ourselves why they had to take it, and the worst of all, not now but wait until April, and they may not reach any decision until the end of their term in June. Even if they do, Jan 6 case Judge Chutkan already said it will take at least 3 months for pretrial preparation. That means that the trial may not be able to start before the election on November.
Now you will understand how illegitimate these MAGA judges are.

The Supreme Court acted quickly in the Colorado case because it benefited Trump, and the Supreme Court is slow walking the immunity case because it benefits Trump to delay the case past the November election.

I believe that founding fathers intended the office of president to be immune from "civil" lawsuits, not "criminal" ones. It makes sense that the president should not be tied up with civil lawsuits that can be filed by anyone for just about any reason. Can you imaging if 10,000 citizens filed separate civil lawsuits against the president just as a means of protest? It should also be self-evident that in a country that touts "The Rule of Law" - no one is above the law, nor should they be.
But this obscure distinction is not found in the constitution, so maybe SCOTUS is taking this opportunity to address the issue and make it clear for not only this case, but cases to follow - because this kind of bullshit (pushing constitutional limits) is the new reality!

This issue here is not why they are taking the case, it is is about how slowly they are acting on it. In Bush v. Gore, they took up the case quickly and decided it quickly. Sandra Day O’Connor wanted to retire under a Republican president, so she tipped the scales in Bush’s favor.
The immunity case is a joke. The DC Circuit Court’s decision is air tight and will be decided against Trump by even this Supreme Court. But they are slow walking the case to make it impossible for the J6 case to be decided before the November election. The conservatives on the Supreme Court are trying to tip the scales in Trump’s favor simply by delaying hearing the case when they could have sped it up.
So who gets hurt here? The America public. Republican’s have been lied to that Biden stole the election and they need to know the true crook is Trump. He tried to strong arm the Georgia Secretary of State to find him votes and to put fake electors in place to vote for him. That’s in addition to fomenting the insurrection.

Trump kicks Biden's ass in debates, Trump takes back the White House, pardons himself to all lawsuits that he can...
Immediately, Iran and North Korea go into hiding, Russia and Ukraine settle their differences, China puts on hold its invasion plans for Taiwan, Trump tells NATO countries that do not contribute monetarily to their commitments that that they must or there will be consequences...
Gas goes back down to $ 2.50 a gallon
Interest rates on homes goes down to 3 %
Just all things that Trump had rocking in the right direction...

Objectively speaking, the president is supposed to be somewhat "immune" for anything he does while in office. If he commits a crime, then he can be impeached, and then you can charge him. So i don't know why some people are up in arms about this decision. This is coming from someone who never voted for Trump. If they allow Trump to be charged after the fact... and while not successfully impeached, it would set a dangerous precedent that would open so many past presidents up to charges for their actions while in office. Obama for one, who i did vote for (once).
So given that there is so much at stake and that we're in an election year, i think it's wise for them to take their time. This scenario has huge implications. The democrats intentionally waited on this to be done during an election year. They could have moved on this much earlier and perhaps this would have been resolved already... they wanted to used it as a political weapon and the Scotus is not going to allow that to happen... regardless of he's guilty or not... you can't weapons the DOJ against a political rival... what are we? Russia?

The question of presidential immunity has been unresolved since 1974 lol
Nixon decision never happened due to his resignation, then pardon by Pres Ford.
Nixon tapes were the leading precedent suggesting that Pres do NOT have complete immunity but final decision was never made.
So, no big surprise that SCOTUS is going to review it.
Sort of a foregone conclusion that Trump WILL lose and immunity will be moot.
What that means for future Presidents and their ability to make decisions without second-guessing potential civil/criminal charges.........who knows?
Could Biden be prosecuted after he leaves office for defying the SCOTUS decision that forgiving college loans is against the law? I can think of a hundred scenarios where Presidents do NOT follow US law both foreign and domestic and could be open to some type of prosecution by a DA that wants to make their bones. NOT saying that Trump should not be prosecuted, just saying that this issue is a lot more complicated than all the Constitutional geniuses on here make it out to be.

I am 100% convinced of the following:
Comrade Putin was poised and ready to invade Ukraine immediately following the 2020 election. Everything was already staged at the borders. If Comrade Trump had won the election Comrade Putin would have invaded Ukraine within days, if not hours. He was waiting for Comrade Trump to win the election because he knew Comrade Trump would give him a green light.
However, Biden won instead. This caused Comrade Putin to re-evaluate everything (like possible reactions by NATO and the US), which took a little time. But in the end, Comrade Putin decided to go ahead with the invasion even without Comrade Trump's green light.
November was the right time (both strategically and tactically) to invade Ukraine when the ground was frozen and tanks and other military vehicles could travel without getting bogged down in the mud. February was actually too late as we saw a lot of Russian military vehicles stopped in the mud in 2021.
I also believe, 100%, that if Jan6 had been successful we would never have a 2024 election. Comrade Trump, emboldened by his Jan6 coup, would simply invent some reason to declare martial law and suspend the elections along with habeas corpus. Under martial law he would have been able to round up and jail reporters that would not repeat his false claims as well as any dissident law makers that would not follow his blueprint for MAGA.
I also believe that there are many people in Comrade Trump's circle of followers who believe as I do but are afraid to voice their opinions for feat that he may win again and actually be in a position to retaliate against them. After he is off the political stage for good, you will find a lot of these people writing books and telling us how absolutely horrible a second Comrade Trump term would have been.

You are correct, I was a Trump Girl, and I was proud. I believed whole-heartedly in what he preached. But I am not a sheep, I have my own mind and am capable of critical thinking. When all was said and done, I realized, and understood that I had been conned. By Don-the-Con no less, or, as I now refer to him, "Comrade Trump" (because evidently, name calling has come into vogue).
I didn't just take history in college, I actually stayed awake and took notes! Comrade Trump is not an original thinker, he is simply following Hitler's playbook. It is like watching history repeat itself. That others cannot see it is frustrating to me.
I think the most telling aspect of how this act may come crashing down is examining how German citizens reacted after WWII when Eisenhower made them tour the death camps. These same people who thought Hitler was the answer to all their socio-economic woes and mis-treatment puked when they saw the aftermath of what Hitler did to the Jews. In the beginning, they never envisioned that it could, or would, turn out so bad for the Germans, mainly because of Hitler's incessant rhetoric of "just trying to make Germany great again!" It was that mantra that gave rise to Hitler's power. It was that mindset that allowed him to do what he did. That was the language that made the Nazi party a cult.
Comrade Trump is using the same playbook, and it is working. Americans have short memories, and thus are most likely to repeat the sins of the past.
BTW - despite Comrade Trump's assertions that he is pro-gun (because he is pandering to the 2md amendment people); if he achieves dictator status he will most assuredly take the guns too. It is a must step for achieving total autocracy.
