Putin started this war because he thinks Russia has no border, and he wants to expand his allies against NATO, much like NAZI invaded Poland. Putin was no respect to Democracy; he wants to build another Soviet Union.
It was Klemlin who sent and spread web of agents across Ukraine to corrupt itself from inside out as a Trojan horse tactics, Russia did that to most of ex-communist countries to take them back under its control again.
US is the biggest problem for Russia to deal with, and its best tactics was to "Divide and Conquer" by exploiting social media to its maximum. China and Iran are doing the same thing right now. Then comes Trump who is willing to sell our country to Russia for his own egotistic ambition of becoming a "Strong Man", or an Authoritarian dictator.
Steve Bannon was another factor, and his ambition to re-build western nations to fit his far-right extremist agenda. Bannon's ideal heroes are Lenin and Hitler. He was trying to expand far right extremists' allies in Europe, and his influence unfortunately spread our Western nations.
Remember Paul Manafort who was sentenced to prison, and he was a campaign manager of Trump, and he had strong business relationships with corrupted Ukraine officials (by Klemlin of course).

To Kim Jung, Trump bowed down and offered up his turdhole/brain, saying it was "America's Ass" like he was Chris Evans. He even went over across to North Korea to present himself and humble America.

Oh, and Trump talked up Putin and told America to trust Putin over internal intelligence and foreign allies, put NATO in dissarray so they would be easy pickings for pro Putin allies to win over and held back weapons from Ukraine and made them look weak so Putin could attack.
