Depends on what you're in the mood for. Clubbing, bars, dinner, shows, museums, sightseeing, hiking, you make it.

A few years ago the rooftop bar at Mama Shelter was really great. I hung out there quite a bit, but that was pre-COVID and I don't know if it's still rockin'.
Maybe our Hollywood correspondent, Ninja, has a take??

It’s better to be more targeted in your question.
Los Feliz/Silverlake [East], more hipster with cool bars, is very different from the center of Hollywood (around Hollywood and Highland), which is more touristy, which is very different from the Sunset Strip [West of Laurel Canyon on Sunset Blvd], which is more upscale and fashionable and with many music venues.
Tip: if you’re ever driving through Hollywood at night, it is best to avoid Sunset Blvd around Fairfax. If there is a checkpoint, it is almost always there. It is best to use Franklin, which is used by locals to more quickly cut across the city. Since Franklin is a smaller street, it is lower yield for LE, which is why they stick with Sunset Blvd for checkpoints.

Also, there is an app called Discotech. Download it onto your phone, pick Los Angeles/Hollywood, and it will show you what is happening /who is playing at many of the best bars/clubs in the area for each night.
You can often get on the guest list for free through that app as well.
