So, I need help breaking into my own car. Don't you judge me! I'm in Long Beach (close to where the 710 and 91 freeways meet) and need some assistance, if there's someone nearby and able?
No, I didn't lock my keys in the car (this time, anyway!).. A couple months ago, the lock mechanism was broken by the jerks at Long Beach City Tow. They illegally towed (aka stole) my 99 Jeep from the front of my house, they also swapped out parts for an identical vehicle in their lot. When it was returned to me, among the many fucked up things they did to my poor car, was break the only lock capable of unlocking and locking my doors.
Usually I leave the window hatch open in the back and shove something in the mechanism so it can't lock, or I make a big to do about looking like I'm locking my doors and then leave a back door lock on the side. This is work so far, but I guess when I hit unlock last night it didn't fully trigger the mechanism. Looking through the window, I can see the lock is halfway triggered, but not enough for me to pop open the door without a wedge or other access tool.
If anybody is in the area, and feeling like getting their Captain Save-A-Ho badge for the day and has either AAA or a wedge or a slim Jim or other similar tool, I'm open to a trade of sorts for the help! (Within reason....). I used to do repo, so all I needed the tools and I'll be in my car and less than a minute. In my glovebox I have everything proving that it's really my car and it'll even match my driver's license, too! Oooo fancy!
