Nancy Pelosi is against free speech and the right to protest

BEIJING — On the eve of the opening of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made a direct warning to American athletes: do not use these Games as a venue for protest.

“I would say to our athletes, ‘You’re there to compete. Do not risk incurring the anger of the Chinese government, because they are ruthless,’” Pelosi said Thursday to a Congressional-Executive Commission on China. “I know there is the temptation on the part of some to speak out while they are there. I respect that. But I also worry about what the Chinese government might do to their reputations, to their families.”

Stocks and Crypto down but there is a silver lining.
It has been a bad couple weeks for my stocks and crypto. There is a silver lining.
My small mountain of silver has gone up in value. Going to start selling some of my junk silver, 90% half dollars, quarters and dimes this weekend. $1.00 in 90% silver coins selling for approx. $24 plus shipping. I have approx. $300.00 in junk silver. Some of it I purchased for under $11 per $1 dollar. Some of it came from the CoinStar machines in stores. Those machines reject silver and foreign coins. Been sticking my hand in the return slots for years. Some coins from metal detecting. My biggest score was purchasing a old, rusted, beat up slot machine at a garage sale. I shook it and heard coins rattle. There where about $150.00 dollars in silver in that machine.

Using Venmo. Cash App or Zelle, new tax reporting for 2022. Thanks Biden.
If you receive $600 or more payments in total for goods and services through a third-party payment network, such as Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle, these payments will now be reported to the IRS.

The new rule results from the American Rescue Plan signed into law in March 2021 and will mainly impact business owners using third-party payment network providers. The IRS is cracking down on payments received through apps, such as Cash App, Zelle or Paypal to ensure those using the third-party payment networks are paying their fair share of taxes.

Previously, the IRS only required third-party payment networks to report payments that met both of the following reporting requirements:

Gross payments that exceed $20,000, AND
More than 200 transactions within the current year.
Beginning Jan. 1, 2022, third-party payment networks will be required to send users Form 1099-K for transactions made by mail or electronically. This means you don’t have to worry just yet: The new tax reporting requirement will impact your 2022 tax return filed in 2023.

The people sending the payments can also be questioned by the IRS.

Anne Rice author of the Vampire Chronicles
This Sunday, December 12, the writer Anne Rice , the author of Interview with the Vampire , died at the age of 80 due to complications derived from a stroke, as confirmed by her son on social networks.

I read many of her books. The witching hour and Memoch the Devil are two of my favorites, Many of her books contain references to place in and around New Orleans. Her book Angel Time the main character narrates most of the book from the Mission Inn in Riverside.

Covid 19 Vaccine is very easy to get in O.C.
I signed up on the Othena site 2 1/2 weeks ago and got the first shot of the Moderna Vaccine on Monday. My appointment was at 12:30 pm on Monday at the Anaheim Convention Center, I got there about 12:20 and was leaving the parking lot at 12:50. Fast easy and no waiting. I was impressed. After the shot they give you an appointment 4 weeks later at the same time. Funny think is that the worker there told me if I have a reaction other than a sore area around the injection site then it is likely I had Covid in the past. I was never tested and on Tuesday I felt as if i had some fluid build up in my lings. Went away in about a day. Hmmmm.

Volunteer at a Covid 19 vaccination site and get a vaccination ahead of schedule
The super sites are seeking volunteers. Do 4 -10 hour shifts and get vaccinated ahead of schedule. I would rather just get Covid and have antibodies for a few months then volunteer for 40 hours. Article from the Register.

County officials are setting up massive COVID-19 vaccination sites and are looking for volunteers to help with the distribution effort.

The sites – called super points-of-dispensing or PODs – will be set up throughout the county and are expected to vaccinate thousands of residents daily. Disneyland was the first location announced Monday, and four more are expected and will need to be manned seven days a week, officials said.

Officials said they hope to pre-register volunteers who will help operate the sites. The county needs people who have medical training, but also those who can help with general assignments such as directing traffic, entering data into computers and registration.

When the question came up at Tuesday’s Orange County Board of Supervisors meeting about whether people could volunteer just to get early access to the vaccine, which is being rolled out in phases, Supervisor Lisa Bartlett said they were told those who sign up for at least four 10-hour shifts would be eligible for a dose.

Now for some good news. AJudge has ruled that Gruesome is overstepping his authority
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A judge on Monday preliminarily ordered California Gov. Gavin Newsom to stop issuing directives related to the coronavirus that might interfere with state law.

Sutter County Superior Court Judge Sarah Heckman tentatively ruled that one of the dozens of executive orders Newsom has issued overstepped his authority and was “an unconstitutional exercise of legislative power.”

“We have been arguing that the California Emergency Services Act does not provide for one-man rule. Today, the Court agreed with us,” Gallagher and Kiley said in a joint statement. “This is a victory for separation of powers. The governor has continued to create and change state law without public input and without the deliberative process provided by the Legislature. Today the judicial branch again gave him the check that was needed and that the Constitution requires.”

How about reading a book instead of yammering about politics
I just finished reading "The Disappearance of the Universe by Gary R. Renard".
A very good read. Some of it I find hard to believe but a good thought provoking read. I am finally now going to read, " A Treatise of Human Nature" by David Hume.

Can a Conjoined twin be guilty of a felony and spend time in jail?
Each twin of the Conjoined twin has their own name and government identification, driver's license....
One twin gets a weapon and attempts to kill or kills another person.
Can that twin be sent to prison? You would have to send both to prison.
