Things to come I stopped at the 99 cent store in Montclair and got a big surprise when I went to get a shopping cart. Now each cart has a device that connects it to the cart in front of it by a small chain. To release the cart you haft to insert a quarter in the device. I imagine it's coming to more stores soon.
Boring Company flamethrower. Elon Musk's plan to sell 20,000 people a $500 flamethrower branded with the name of his Los Angeles-based tunnel-digging venture, The Boring Company, has hit a roadblock. In a statement issued today and published on Twitter by Los Angeles Times report Liam Dillon, California Assemblyman Miguel Santiago (D-Los Angeles) said he intends to introduce legislation that would prevent Musk's company from selling the flamethrower to the public, at least in the state of California.
California looks at dumping gas tax for per-mile fee as cars use less fuel Weeks into a new gas tax hike, California transportation officials said Thursday they are studying ways to charge drivers based on how many miles they drove since their last fill-up rather than the amount of fuel they use.
The problem? California drivers are choosing such fuel-efficient cars that the state fears it will be deprived of enough road construction revenues in the long run.
The Caltrans study- the California Road Charge Pilot Program report - is billed as a way for the state to move from its longstanding but outmoded pump tax to a system where drivers pay based on their odometer readings.
Caltrans Deputy Director Carrie Pourvahidi said the state will send out a request early next year to technology companies for ideas on a simple communication system at gas stations or electric charging stations that can instantly tell how many miles the car has driven.
Officials say the research stems from the state's struggles to come up with adequate per-gallon pump revenues as more cars get higher mileage.

The "Suits" actress and philanthropist, whose boyfriend Prince Harry is fifth in line to the British throne, is reportedly leaving the cast of the long-running legal drama. Though the USA Network series has been renewed for an eighth season, Markle isn't believed to have renewed her contract and Deadline Hollywood says that she's "poised to depart."

Coke Zero Sugar Two liter bottles were on sale at Food For Less 79 cent each. I was hoping for something that tasted like Coca Cola. To me it tasted just like the old diet Coke.
Anyone else have a different experience? What is your opinion?
Would you loan your cell phone to a stranger to make a call? The other day I felt sort of bad after a lady asked to borrow my cell phone and I said no. A few days later I see on the news a guy loaning a woman his phone and her making a mad dash for her car and was gone. I was talking to a friend about this situation and we came to the conclusion instead of being rude and saying no that I would place the call for them. Now I'll probley get mugged while placing the call.
What's your thoughts on loaning your phone to a stranger?
