Justice for KeyOrisha (murder in Virgin Islands)
HX community,
KeyOrisha, a queen on this site who fought for women's safety and protection, was murdered Sunday morning in the Virgin Islands. Currently, there are no suspects; however, she was executed. As you know, when sex workers are murdered, authorities yawn. BUT not this time. When a black child went missing, KeyOrisha would create a flyer and circulate it on social media. When a sex worker was a victim of violence, KeyOrisha would ensure women were empowered and justice would be swift. She believed in sustainability, black empowerment, and justice for ALL. She was a queen.
Now, we need to make sure that we find who did this. I will not let her name disappear like so many have because this world doesn't care enough about women -- particularly if they "do this kind of work." She was in the VI building a black woman-owned business about to take off. THERE WILL BE JUSTICE FOR HER.
We will be setting up a project called Justice4Taurian that will not only pressure an often corrupt group of Island authorities but also ensure Justice for all Women who are victims...of who they are "deemed to be." Her work was powerful.
