     Today in Gloom - ugh
Well, the body count is rising

1. Indiana FedEx.

Gun + Psycho=

You’ve seen the story before, but dang is it getting harder to feel pain and grief over this.

2. Chicago body cam footage.

Now that one hurts, because of what the cop says went down and what we saw on camera.
Why the city has not erupted over this is beyond me.

3. Covid rates rise.

Covid is coming back, long and strong, baby. Keep the guard up, keep social distancing, or it will get you. And better yet, just because you had it does not mean you will not get reinfected. Some cases have shown it does a double-whammy.

4. Hong Kong police crack down.

China isn’t hiding it’s authoritarian hands anymore, as it’s weeding out dissenters within before taking on foes beyond its borders.

     Spokesperson- eye-candy
How many ladies would be down helping a sales team close a deal?

Won’t go into the particulars, but ran into a “spokesperson” for a service who looked professional but naughty. And she was distracting as we pitched a bid on a project contract. Very subtle but hard to Ignore. No funny business besides that.

And out of the teams that came for the appointment, this team got the deal.

Oh boy, what 24 hours make.

Doomsday clock countdown getting closer!

1. Russia is ramping up armed forces in Ukraine and Arctic, and the US is sending warships.

2. Speaking of warships, China is getting in on the game of playing chicken in the south sea.

3. And in local news, Minnesotans are in an uproar as another black man was killed during a traffic stop.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/04/12/us/brooklyn-center-minnesota-police-shooting/index.html

4. Georgia police shot during chase.

5. US covid rates rise among young people.

https://www.wgal.com/article/covid-19-hospitalizations-among-younger-people-are-rising-in-the-united-states-especially-in-one-region/36086665

6. And on the bright side, Trump says no to Gaetz meeting. Both deny a request was made, but the receipts are being shown.

“There can be only one.”

Vaccine I has been rendered less effective.
Much like Trump’s limp dick (and all of the limp dick’s of Trumptards everywhere) the ever mutating virus has begun to show that the Pfizer vaccine is ineffective.

From the article:

“The Pfizer coronavirus vaccine is somewhat less effective against the South African mutation; a new study has shown, raising a red flag among health professionals of the need to continue monitoring Israel’s airports to keep out what could be dangerous mutations.

.......

The study, conducted by Clalit Health Services and Tel Aviv University, was the first of its kind based on real-world data. It has been published on the MedRxiv online site and therefore has not yet been peer-reviewed.

.......

The study counters a report released by Pfizer earlier this month that claimed the vaccine was 100% effective in preventing coronavirus among participants trialed in South Africa, where the mutation is prevalent.

In this case, what was shown in the lab turned out to also occur in real life, Prof. Adi Stern, of the Shmunis School of Biomedicine and Cancer Research at Tel Aviv University’s Faculty of Life Sciences, told The Jerusalem Post.“

How’s that flu comparison working out, Trumptards?

February 7:

That same day, on the morning of February 7th, the president mentioned, without supporting evidence, that Covid-19 could dissipate with the arrival of warmer weather, much like the seasonal flu. Trump tweeted that the “virus hopefully becomes weaker with warmer weather, and then gone.”

Dems shoot themselves in the foot
I’be been tracking Pete Buttigeg since he became a candidate for POTUS.

And I’m familiar with his poker face and when he is fibbing, and oh boy is he having a hard time with this one:

Attack on the Capitol - 2nd wave
We knew it was coming.

“ Police officer killed in vehicle attack on U.S. Capitol.

- A motorist rammed a vehicle into U.S. Capitol police on Friday and brandished a knife, killing one officer and injuring another and forcing the Capitol complex to lock down in an attack that police said did not immediately appear to be terrorism-related.

Police responded by firing on the suspect, who died.

Yogananda Pittman, acting chief of the United States Capitol Police, told a news conference that he drove into the officers then hit a barricade and got out of the car, lunging at them with a knife in his hand.

One officer was killed and the other was injured, she said.”

     Summer playlist 2021
Just heard the new Silk Sonic album by Anderson Paak and Bruno Mars.

Really sounds like from it came from great summers of yesteryear, with decent “get down” music.

What is new that you are listening to?

Today in science: under water aliens from Kiribati
Let’s make ourselves a little smarter today.

From the article:

Scientists find deep-sea bacteria that are invisible to the human immune system.

Bacteria collected from more than a mile below the surface of the Pacific Ocean may have just blown one of immunology's longest-held assumptions clean out of the water.

The bacteria are so alien to humans that our immune cells do not even register that they exist, making them completely invisible to our immune systems.

This totally contradicts one of the classic tenets of immunology — that the human immune system evolved to be able to sense every single microbe so it could catch the infectious ones.

"The idea was that the immune system is a generalist, it doesn't care if something was a threat or not, it just got rid of it. But no one had really pressure tested that assumption until now," Jonathan Kagan, an immunologist at Boston Children's Hospital and one of the study leaders, told Live Science.

     Hugging and kissing
Well, not to be outdone with Biden’s performance this week, Trump was desperate to remind everyone why he was voted out of office by a large majority.

Biden: “ So the best way to get something done, If you, if you hold near and dear to you that you uh um like to be able to, anyway.”

Trump: “Hold my Hydroxychloroquine.”

———————-

Former President Donald Trump downplayed the Capitol riot, falsely claimed it posed "zero threat," and defended his loyalists who stormed the building on January 6 during an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Thursday night.

Trump claimed that some of the rioters had "great relationships" with the Capitol police, although one officer died and more than 100 were injured after being attacked by violent rioters. Trump suggested some of the rioters didn't commit any offense by invading the US Capitol building as Congress met to certify the results of the 2020 election.

"It was zero threat, right from the start, it was zero threat," Trump said. "They went in, they shouldn't have done it. Some of them went in and they're hugging and kissing the police and the guards, they had great relationships. A lot of the people were waved in, and then they walked in and they walked out."majority.
