AI is coming to get you
Alright people, put away the jabs for now.
We need to start talking seriously about how AI is going to make life much harder for us when we enjoy hotel visits.
I just wrapped up a virtual luncheon with business partners for the hospitality industry, and cracking down is coming.
Security experts, technology vendors and former “participants” talked about habits and tech to root out visitors, and oh boy that is some scary stuff that they are coming up with.
How many times a door opens and closes, how many wifi signals in a room, were these signals available the whole time during the guest stay or did they pop in and out, housekeeping apps to help housekeeping “flag” things that seem shady.
The technology is here and becoming more affordable, and the demonstration I saw showed how people can get “caught in the net”. And how the AI is ready NOW to make help support plans that hotels may activate.
At an affordable price.

If the taco truck is rocking…
Just left a friend’s bbq at a park in North OC where the ladies working at the taco truck have a gen-u-iiine super secret menu.
The usual tacos and bbq sandwiches were on the menu, but the male driver was walking around with a mini popsicle truck walked around offering frozen treats.
And also sizing up potential players for the ladies, as one of the people at the bbq next to our group site came back sweaty with a big smile on his face. He pointed out to his buddies where he had been.
My Spanish is not business level, but I understood enough slang to understand that he got a popsicle treat from the “secret menu” and paid “extra” for a bbq chef apron from the food vendor.
Sure enough the ice cream guy makes another round 90 minutes later, on of the other guys goes to get “his order” and one of the ladies grilling disappears to measure his apron.
I notice this, and the ice cream guy noticed, and he says “tacos are three bucks, but if you keep staring that is going to cost you ten, and if you want to talk then them we have to talk about extra on the side. I remind him it’s a free country and I can look all I want, and went to work on my next beer. He did not like that at all.
10 minutes later the second guy also comes back with a big smile on his face.
I’ll give the operation kudos for having enough brass to try something like that and pull it off.

Hurricane Idalia
For those of who have friends in the path of the storm, check in with them and make sure they are ok.
I checked in on an ex who is in the storm path, and it’s gruesome, as she saw someone and their dog narrowly pull themselves up out of the storm surge onto one of their neighbor’s balconies.

Never in history has one party spent so much time , effort, money, media hoaxes, spying, Impeachments, useless legal allegations, trying to disqualify a candidate OF THE OTHER PARTY in history.”
You’ve never had a total and well known conman become leader of the free world, never had the good name of the USA been turned to trash via blind arrogance, and never had a POTUS be involved in so many crimes.
Update: US civil leaders are pushing for the 14th amendment to be applied.

The first legal filing to have Trump disqualified under the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution has been filed in Florida,
“ In the filing, Caplan wrote that the facts of his case “are undeniably simple.” In 2016, Trump won the presidential election, and in 2020, he lost it. The following Jan. 6, Trump encouraged a throng of supporters to march to the Capitol, saying he’d be “right there with them,” Caplan wrote.”
