Normally I don’t do health and wellness book reads, let alone recommend a book, but this is a good one.
For those of you who want to improve the quality of life, start with the basics.
Learn to breathe. Learn to love cold.

Breathing is the body’s only autonomic function we can actually control — but the majority of us rarely do. Bad breathing habits have exacerbated a range of chronic ailments from hypertension, asthma and fatigue.”

Crypto currency: the rise of tigerking
For the past few days tigerking crypto currency has gone up 900%, another meme based crypto taking off, with continued expectation to rise before season 2 of the show.
“ The cryptocurrency claims to be the “official coin” of the popular Tiger King series, which launched on Netflix last year.
Tiger King Coin also claims to have the support of Joseph Maldonado, aka Joe Exotic, the controversial lead character of the hit show. He is currently serving a 22-year prison sentence after being charged with animal abuse and attempting to hire someone to kill rival Carole Baskin.”

New variant:
“ A newly described SARS-CoV-2 lineage C.37 was recently designated as a variant of interest by the World Health Organization (WHO) on June 14th and denominated as the Lambda variant. Its presence was reported in more than 20 countries as of July 2021, and most sequences to date stem from South American countries – particularly for Chile, Argentina, Ecuador and Peru.
And albeit the Lambda variant is characterized by specific mutations in the SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein, their exact impact of infectivity and potential escape to neutralizing antibodies are still unknown. The latter is particularly important in countries currently undergoing massive vaccination efforts.
Since one of such countries is Chile, a research group led by Dr. Mónica L. Acevedo from the University of Chile School Of Medicine aimed to appraise the impact of the Lambda variant on the neutralizing antibodies responses stemming from the inactivated virus vaccine CoronaVac (also known as the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine).”
Oh, and it looks like those people who took Pfizer May need a booster shot, as the effectiveness is showing signs of wearing off.

“ Brown trout can get hooked on methamphetamine, a highly addictive drug found in waterways around the world.
….
Human drug use can spill over into streams and rivers, because the chemicals pass through wastewater systems that weren’t designed to extract them. To study the effects of a common illicit drug on wildlife, Pavel Horký at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague and his colleagues looked to brown trout, Salmo trutta.
For 8 weeks, the researchers held 60 trout in a tank spiked with methamphetamine at a concentration of 1 microgram per litre, and 60 control trout in a meth-free tank. The fish were then placed in a tank containing two separate streams of water — one with methamphetamine and one without — between which they could swim freely. Trout that had spent 2 months swimming in meth-spiked water were found on the meth side in 50.5% of observations, compared with only 41.5% for control trout. The authors interpret this preference as a sign of addiction.“
Crazy that we have to test for this kind of stuff, and that the sign that this happens to animals around our planet.

“ A white supremacist group based in Texas attempted a march on Philadelphia over the Independence Day weekend, but had to celebrate the holiday the Confederate way.
“They literally ran away from the people of Philadelphia,” Michael Crum, a police officer in the city, told local ABC station WPVI.
About 200 masked and khaki-clad members of the Patriot Front organization, listed as a white nationalist hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, marched on the city in the Saturday night incident, NBC Philadelphia reported.
They chanted about the election and “reclaim America,” engaged in pushing and shoving with people, and took a reporter’s cellphone, the station said.
Photos and videos from the scene, including images captured by a Philadelphia Inquirer photographer, show them fleeing in Penske box trucks.
One member of the white supremacist group was hit and fell when another member pulled the truck’s roll-up door down, slamming him in the head in the process.”

“ Matiss Kivlenieks, a goaltender for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League, died Sunday night after an accident involving fireworks at a party, according to authorities in Novi, Michigan.
Kivlenieks, 24, died from a fireworks mortar blast and chest trauma, according to Inspector Mitch Brown of the Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office.
The death was ruled accidental after a full autopsy was conducted by the Oakland County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Ljubisa Dragovic, Brown said.

“The U.S. government, once openly dismissive of UFO sightings that for decades sparked the popular imagination, is poised to issue an expansive account of what it calls "unidentified aerial phenomena," based heavily on observations by American military pilots.
The U.S. intelligence community, in conjunction with the Pentagon, is due in the coming days to submit a report to Congress on the subject. The Pentagon in recent years has released or confirmed the authenticity of video from naval aviators showing enigmatic aircraft exhibiting speed and maneuverability exceeding known aviation technologies.
In the lead-up to its forthcoming report, Defense Department officials have made clear they take the issue seriously while sidestepping questions about any potential extraterrestrial origins. The report marks a turning point for the U.S. military after decades of deflecting, debunking and discrediting observations of unidentified flying objects and "flying saucers."
