There have been multiple incidents of males with no HX account falsely claiming to be some user on HX. They trick a girl by claiming they can't get to their HX account for some reason, and if she accepts, he robs her, including stealing her car if possible.

SCAM BLOCK for GUYS
To prevent scammers from "claiming" your profile when texting a girl off site, it is suggested to add one of the following to your profile page:
VERSION ONE:
I will never text you without sending a PM first which will include a reference code or phrase that I will text you for verification. Also, I will text you only from the number I list in the PM.
If anyone contacts you claiming to be me, but there is no such PM or verification from me, you should block them and not respond.
VERSION TWO:
I have no mail privileges here at the moment. If I text you directly, I will ask you to PM me a one-time random passcode to my account here, and I will text that code back to you as verification. Also, I will only text you from a text number where the last four digits are [insert last 4 digits of number only].
If anyone contacts you claiming to be me, but we do not exchange a passcode to verify me, you should block them and not respond.

SCREENING ADVICE for GIRLS
1) NEVER accept that someone claims to be any HX profile via text without a confirmatory private mail HERE.
2) PASSCODE: If they do not have mail privileges, then send them a one-time passcode to their specific HX account, and ask them to text that passcode back to you to verify the account.
3) DO NOT give out your specific info such as donation, or most especially location information (even non-specific neighborhood level) until the client has been verified/screened.
4) BE CAUTIOUS of new accounts as well as old accounts with no activity in their network for years. Also be very wary of a guy that has sent network ratings to a lot of girls who did not rate him back.
5) ID FALLACY: Most guys are willing to take a selfie with them holding their ID. But these are so often fake IDs** it's almost funny. Or they cover name/address/number so a background check can't be completed.
6) REFERRALS and verified good network (here) or verified girl's responses (on PrivateDelights) is a "best practice".
7) BACKGROUND CHECKING: Run phone numbers through the app MrNumber, and some BG check services like BeenVerified may be helpful in determining who someone is... But that does not mean the person is not a total creep still. MrNumber reports though are often quite valuable, and it's only four bucks a month.

Also fake electronic identities are easy to create and hard to search against. There are predators out there you need to be very concerned about, so, images of an ID should be considered with due caution.
**NOTE: It's trivial for someone to alter an ID in a photo they send you, as opposed to having an actual fake ID made.
